Which Is Stronger 15mg Ms Contin Or 15mg Oxycodone (Page 5) (Top voted first)

I wonder what the difference is between 15MG MS Contin vs 15 Mg Oxycodone. Is there a substitute for MS Morphine..I take 2 30mg MS Contin twice a day and also with that I take 15MG MS Contin twice per day..which of course is 45mgs at a time..with 3 15mg Oxcodone for breakthru pain. I was taking 20 mg Oxycontin 3 times a day etc. But my insurance wasn't paying for the oxy. So what I take now is paid for. Do any of you have any suggestions of what would work better for the pain..since I changed to morphine it doesn't seem to do the trick..this is long..but any answers would be very appriciated..Thanks..

Hi I'm new to this but I would like to know if you think that since I take 4 to 5 Norco 10 325 and 3 tramadol a day and switch to ms contin 15 my 2 times a day will help me with my pain cause my doctor just switch my meds please help with question.

Nicely put. I'm a nurse and take care of people who are truely in pAin everyday of their lives but it can be frustrating to give pAin pills to the "clock watchers" and always say the have 8/10 pain while they are smiling and laughing.

I live in Calif and I can't find any pharmacy that has ms contain so my doc. Changed me to oxyccontain but I'm still on 75 mg of fentayal plus 3 60 ms contain plus 30 mg of morphine I'm in rehab for a new shoulder and. Quit the fentayal patch ddid I make a mistake of getting rid of the patch. ? I hurt a lot but my head is clear and my speech is better should I stay on the patch and quit everything else?

Have you considered switching from morphine to methadone. I am prescribed 5- 10 mg methadone and 3- 15 mg oxycodone a day. I can get through most days only taking two methadone instead of five. it may not work for everybody but it's worth a try. e

I take oxycodone30mg five times a day and perc10s in between my doctor wants to switch me to the ms oxymorfine image all ready comfortable. With what I'm taking. Cause as soon as that ware off I hurt so should I switched or stay where I'm at

Sadly it is very true that the cold and wet winters are really tough for us chronic pain folks. I moved to Oregon couple years ago and man did I find out. I am now about to undergo a procedure to implant two TENS wires and a transmitter in my spine.
A new version of an old system. Pain Doc is quite confident it will reduce pain and meds by a substantial number. I hope so. As with most of us, the pain has gotten consistently worse since my first post here about 5 years ago. All the result of a fusion of L5-S1 that only made things get much much worse. Am currently on 20mg OxyContin every 8, with 5 mg Oxycodone in between as needed..( always needed)

Oxycontin is a time released oxycodone ms contin is time released morphine

Take a higher dose. Say ms contin 10mg q 8 hrs. I'm sure that will help. Ask your doctor.

Good news..so far...I am a long time poster here after a failed Fusion in 2009. Last week I had a trial unit Implanted Tens installed (Boston Scientific) and so far I am seeing impressive results. I have been on 20mg OxyContin ever 8 with 5mg Oxycodone in between for years...and I am already certain I can start cutting that back very soon ! If one is of the type that can live with a Tens, it is a very healthy switch move for sure. Quite pricey, but covered by most insurance. Next week they remove the unit..then after a few days implant the controller under the skin, and I use a remote to adjust it at my discretion.

Sorry about your cronic pain. Been there myself. What you really NEED is a NEW DR. if you continue on this path you better start planning your funeral. I dont know where you live and what access you have to good Dr's but you need to find a new Dr. And get the problem fixed.

The pharmacy CVS carries the med. But only the free standing pharmacy. Not the little ones inside of other stores.

They manufacture 5mg 10 mg 15 mg20mg and 30mg of oxycodone immediate release. The 625 is Tylenol which is horrible for your live.

Find a new doctor. There are still plenty of doctors that don't discriminate against narcotic users. Just make sure you truly understand the consequences of the dugs and what it is like to withdrawal

Thank you. There are many corrections & improvements that need to be made in healthcare. Pain control methods & laws are currenty written for the benefit of insurance, pharmaceutical corps, medical industry, judicial/law enforcement budgets & for political effect. A crisis is at hand as people live longer with more chronic pain problems. New diseases like the tick born one I am afflected with cause severe nerve & brain damage & leave people in horrid pain. Cannabis & natural psychoactives could help many with pain, PTSD, death anxiety of terminal patients, etc. The ONLY people who can make these things happen are legislators & the people that vote for them. Unfortunately there are too many who dont care about these things until it happens to them.

Way too many doctors are not reliable on this subject, especially pain specialists. In addition mant states laws make it difficult to impossible to change doctors for pain control or prescription problems.

Get away from the tylenol as much as possible it will destroy your liver. The ibuprofen can be dangerous to your colon & kidneys. The opiates have problems too but are actually safer IF used properly.
