Where Can I Find A Dr In Florida Who Will Prescribe Xanax To Me?

I have been prescribed Xanax for the last few years. My Dr has recently retired and I would like a recommendation of a Dr who can help in South Florida. I have anxiety and sleeplessness.
Hi. I recently moved to Palm Beach County in South Florida. I left behind a wonderful PCP and psychiatrist in my former state. I have found a new PCP and my old Psychiatrist has been prescribing my psych meds, including Xanax for me, but I do not wish to get them in trouble. I'd like a recommendation for a doctor in this area who will prescribe Xanax. I do not need smart comments about how I have a problem, etc. This is a medication that helps me, I do not abuse it, I just need to find a new provider. Thank you.

Thank you for the kind words. I would have thought this process of reviewing your most private of information wouldn't be abused, especially before your initial visit with a new practice. I really resent how things have become. There are a bunch of Xanax videos on YouTube, and I have found this forum very helpful! Could you expand your search to a family M.D. or D.O. to make it that much easier for you?
Re: EDDY (# 103)
I agree Eddie… it’s crazy how they can decide to look at every drug u have been prescribed. I’m a nurse and not that I agree with this but it is true that any medical information that a Doctor you see seems to be necessary in order to aid him making an informed diagnosis or treatment plan legally gives him the right to research your records. However I believe that you should have to be informed first as well as sign a release. But most doctors just assume they can do what they want now that they assume anyone with pain or anxiety or whatever is “an addict and seeker” smh. I have been on Xanax for over half my life on and off for legitimate and well documented anxiety and I personally asked to be taken off of it 2 years ago cause I felt better and didn’t use it often. That psychiatrist retired and now even with his records I cannot find any psych dr to prescribe it for me now. Smh.

Re: EDDY (# 103)
Be sure and check the laws in your state. Unfortunately, some doctors lie to their patients about the laws
Re: EDDY (# 103)
Believe it or not Gabapentin aka neurontin is now a “narcotic/controlled” in most states. I am on it for severe spinal stenosis which means my spine narrows and pinched off my sciatic nerve causing nerve pain and damage and I actually have no issue with getting it as I have years of proof I’m in need of it but I know people who can’t get it now.
I am in Spring Hill, Florida and need to find a doctor that can prescribe me Xanax. I have severe panic attacks and insomnia, and need them asap. If anyone knows please let me know.
Re: E (# 100)
I stand corrected then. What if you live in a Tri State area though? A Pain Doctor would require similar checks & bloodwook, now you tell me a new office looks at everything, almost like an invasion of privacy? My Doctor last week called Xanax a "narcotic" and I said come on. Sure it's controlled, most of the medicine behind the counter is controlled. It seems the new language for any medicine that has a potential for abuse and is habit forming is a "narcotic". Also it is harder for the doctor to write for these pills requiring an extra electronic form/DEA #. Sounds like a terrible doctors office. Is this a HMO or some sort of managed care doctor, we'll all be there soon
Re: E (# 100)
It is common for doctors to check their states Prescription Drug Monitoring Program database before they see new patients now days.
Re: EDDY (# 99)
Not true. I signed up to see a new dr and the doctor looked up my controlled substance history and specifically texted and said they will not prescribe Xanax if that’s what I am coming for and i never said anything to them about why I was coming. And I haven’t abused the system or anything
Re: Drs can check anxiety (# 97)
A Doctor isn't going to waste their valuable time to pre check on you as a prospective patient before prescribing medicine. If the Doctor suspects you of being a drug user or abuser, or if you say something they consider a red flag, chances are they might not fill your prescription. It is all on how you present yourself, and developing a professional relationship is always helpful.
Re: Russell (# 98)
Russell, do you have access to the Internet?
Re: Jammi (# 89)
Can you please share the doctor's number?
Re: BlessedLady (# 94)
I said they can confirm anxiety based on Electronic medical records which almost all physicians use now. They literally can tell the last time u received Xanax or any other medication if at all. So yes they can confirm it not by what u say but by ur records which I have
Re: Sissy (# 10)
(786) 262-5750 - Dr Ben Mitchell provides a phone call visit that takes like 10 min and it costs $25 a week for subs plus ur script, which my insurance covered for like $20. He basically doesn’t ask questions and just prescribes as soon as you call.
Re: Sandy (# 8)
I'm looking for a Dr to prescribe xanax in Pasco county (Holiday), or Tarpon FL
Re: Erika (# 93)
A person saying they have anxiety does not mean they have it. Doctors need to also go by other symptoms to confirm anxiety dx.
Re: Benjamin (# 87)
They can’t be in trouble for prescribing the medication if the person has valid reasons which will be checked over by the doctors. I’m a nurse I can assure u of this. Unless u posted “dr so and so” doesn’t even ask me about anxiety but writes me a prescription for Xanax anyway. Or something similar that’s only way they would be looked at
Re: Udontknowme (# 91)
I have tried zoc doc they won’t write Xanax or even my gabapentin they do not write for controlled meds and they are controlled
Re: Denise (# 54)
Go to zocdoc, type in info. I have same insurance. Even type any location in FL for a video visit. {edited for privacy}
