When Can I Stop Taking Atorvastatin?
UpdatedHello. I have been taking lipvas (atorvastatin) tablets for the past nine months and my daily dose is 10mg. I got checked for my cholesterol levels and all parameters are within the safe zone. Shall I stop taking this medication?

You should not stop it, without your doctor's approval.
The NIH lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches.
The medication may be the only thing keeping it down and preventing future medical problems.
Are you on any other medications?
I had diabetes and an old stroke case for which the doctor prescribed Carbamazepine, Atorvastatin, and an Asprin tablet. Now my BP and sugar levels are somehow ok. So, can I stop taking these meds?
