I have just been prescribed 15mg of mirtazapine following been weaned off citalopram as it was not aggreeing with me and causing constant disturbed sleep and making me shattered and withdrawing from everything. I was prescribed mirtazapine to help me sleep but also to help my social anxiety and lift my mood to prevent me taking everything personal etc. Having read loads of comments im quite concerned about this drug is there actually any benefits or success stories out there or is it a big no no. Also very concerned on the weight gain is this with everyone. Sounds more of a nightmare than a dream!!

It has successfully helped many people, but the only way to see if it works for you is by trying it.
It could also cause some sleep disturbances for the first few weeks of taking it, but it may not cause it for you, the same with the weight gain, not everyone experiences every listed side effect.
The FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.
