What Pain Medication Could My Doctor Prescribe (hepatitis C)
UpdatedWhat narcotic pain meds could my doctor safely prescribe as someone who has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C? Also, I have been prescribed Suboxone. Is this a problem with this diagnosis? I have a terrible doctor who manages to see 20 patients in less than an hour by ushering us all in and out in 5 minutes or less...so I haven't been able to ask her.

Zydot,
Unfortunately in your position the issue isn't with time management or your Hep-C . You must find another provider concerned enough about your welfare to treat you with the respect you deserve. There are narcotic pain meds that can be safely utilized but if your already receiving suboxone I question the effectiveness that these Rx's would have on your pain. Seek a referal for a competent medical provider as they will assist you with a comprehensive evaluation and assistance.
Dont touch suboxone it will send u crazy and very very hard to get off .its no wonder drug.
Hello Zydot,
There are a number of pain medications that doctors are capable of prescribing you, what really matters is what your doctor and you agree is the best type of medication for you to be on. Suboxone is a strong pain medication but is highly addictive and should really only be prescribed if you are in absolute need of something that strong.
Some people advise against doctor shopping but I personally think it's important to contemplate finding another doctor If you feel that your current doctor is not giving you the adequate amount of time and dedicating himself to ensuring your health needs are being met. Health care in general is something that I've noticed many people don't spend nearly enough time shopping around for, we are relying on these medical professionals to take care of us in ways that we can not do ourselves and that responsibility should not be taken so lightly. If what you say is true and his office is a constant revolving door of patients it really may be in your best interest to get your health care needs met somewhere else.
Best of luck to you regardless of what you choose to do next.
