Is Lipitol a statin? What is the main ingredient?

Yes, it is a statin that contains the active ingredient Atorvastatin.

The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, and joint/muscle aches.

Has your doctor told you to take it?

It has recently been found in studies that high cholesterol does not cause heart disease and strokes, as first thought, though more studied do need to be done to confirm these findings.
