Hi Michael - Sorry to hear about your friend. I checked MedlinePlus, and with a muscle relaxer such as Tizanidine, it would be very dangerous to take it with an opiate drug such as Oxycodone. Both medications can slow breathing to a dangerous level. May I ask what HIV medication they are currently taking? At the very least, taking a higher dose than what has been prescribed can cause unpleasant effects, such as:
- extreme fatigue / drowsiness
- mental fog / confusion
- dizziness
- show / shallow breathing
- slowed heartbeat
- fainting / loss of consciousness
