What Do I Do? Subutex Not Working Anymore!

"I've been using 8mg of Subutex for about a year now and it no longer gives me any type of relief. Would increasing my dose help or is there another medicine I could take that would help my anxiety and cravings without using a benzodoazapine? Please help! ..."

You may require a dosage adjustment, the maintenance dosage to keep a patient from experiencing withdrawal symptoms can go as high as 24mgs, according to the information provided by the FDA.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I was on suboxone for withdraw from Percocet, then weaned off. I was in a car accident so I was put back on subutex. Dr kept increasing dosage, but it doesn't seem to help pain anymore. can subutex stop helping with pain?

Yes, it can, if your body becomes tolerant to it.

There are some people that it doesn't work for, at all, to relieve pain.

I've been on Suboxone for at least 7 years and my dosage has always been 16mg daily. I can actually take less than that normally, but that's what is prescribed. I know that many medications, especially opiates, your body becomes tolerant to and you need an increase in dosage. However, I have to say that in the last 7 years I haven't found that.

Some days I feel fine and other days I cannot get "well". I am taking 3 8mg of sub a day. Some days I can take less and other days I HAVE to take more? Why is this?
