Please include other things, besides sudafed, and weight loss pills for causing a false positive on methamphetamine through urine tests.

Just curious- I just found out that I'm going to be offered a very good job that requires urinalysis. Unfortunately i've been taking methamphetamine for about a week straight. Someone told me Prilosec would show up as methamphetamine. Is this true or do you have any suggestions that may mask the methamphetamine if I can't get it out of my system by Thursday of this week? Thank you in advance for any information you can provide me with!

well Keith there's not really nothing you can say but there is a few things you can do, 1 do a search on all medications you are currently taking or have taken over the counter or prescription an see if any of them cause false positives for methamphetamine, 2 if you locate what medication caused the false positive get a page printed out that explains that specific drug or drugs do in fact cause false positives for methamphetamine an present it to your doctor, 3 if the printed page is not enough to change your doctor's mind then offer to take a hair follicle test an if you are truly innocent then you should be fine. note over the counter heartburn medicine like zantact aka ranitidine will in fact cause a false positive for amphetamines so if you have been taking those for heartburn I can tell you now that's the reason or one of the reasons your showing up positive for meth, good luck.

239 Jano: CAUTION!! You run the risk of putting your body into Alkalosis which can be very dangerous. It messes up your electrolyte balance.

Jean, Yes indeed lisinopril can cause a false positive for benzodiazepines and cocaine on some dip stick tests. Always have the test confirmed by LC/MS/MS.

Dr John - you state in your reply to Dana that you can only confirm MAMP with blood, which is misleading to the general public. It just adds fuel to their fire that urine testing is invalid. As for confirming testing, we submit all of our confirms to Medtox (when the physician wants one). You are right a screening test is just that, a screening test. Each screening test has it's own detection limits.
