my husband has never used meth but he takes heartburn medication on a daily basis its over the counter heartburn medication called acid reducer from dollar general. He's not failing for meth but keeps showing a real faint line. This is crazy, so it has to be the heartburn medicine?

Lyn my wife had the same thing happen to her this week. She is on the suboxone program. She has never done methamphetamine in her life, but she also tested positive for it. She does not drink, smoke Marijuana, or do cocaine. And this is true, these small labs have a lot of inaccurate readings. We totally understand where u r coming from. I am waiting for my wife to give me a list of the prescriptions she takes and see if any fall into those categories. She is a recovering alcoholic and from pain medication given to her in the hospital for Pancreatitis. So the suboxone has been a miracle worker for both addictions. But now due to a small clinic she has tested positive for methamphetamine. It could be a variation of things. Could be they used a used piss cup who knows. I just know for a fact that my wife is clean. Only takes what she is prescribed. Good to hear we are not the only ones dealing with BS. THANKS.

I was taking Gabapentin for a period of time for nerve pain and had many bad side effects similar to the ones that were mentioned including mood swings, involuntary muscle movement and stopped taking it. Didn't help much either.

I tested positive for methamphetamine use, and never in my life have I ever used this drug or anything of its kind. My Dr. gave me a prescription for Zantac 150 milligram to take with my Omeprazole Dr 40mg for my stomach problems. Had a i**** Dr. that did a blotched Gallbladder surgery, ended up losing a 1 third of my stomach because of it. Don't these Dr's read up on this medicine that they give us? Ugh so disgusted with this Dr.

I took a drug test in a cup and failed for methamphetamine. They are sending it to a lab. I took zantac. Will they be able to figure out that it's zantac and not methamphetamine?

On a UA THC will show up for "up to" 30 days with a "maximum" of 40 days. If the test is Blood test rather than urine you could "possibly" add another 2 weeks to that, but "ONLY" if they are testing for "any detectable amount" most judicial based tests such as for probation or drug court use the same federal standard as a pre-employment drug test and these are "all" regulated to only be deemed a positive result IF the substance they are screening for is "above" a certain PPM/KG of body mass or PPM/ per units of blood/urine. The "ONLY WAY" she caught a positive after 6 months if your 110% certain she's being honest about her use is if they do a hair test. Hair grows about 1/2"-1" per month so if she hasn't had her hair cut they could, "technically" see every chemical she put in her body going back as far as the time frame the length of her hair would allow, "BUT", we STILL have the issue that the vast majority of situations that require anyone to take a drug test are regulated by federal laws and they can't just test for anything they want going back as far as they want and show any detectable amount as a positive

My sister smoked for years and years... She quit and 6 months after quitting. Not smoking AT ALL she tested positive for marijuana. It takes a lot longer the longer you have done it.

Hydrocodone WILL NOT show up as an opiate as this drug, along with oxycodone is not a true opiate, but rather an "opioid". In other words it's not directly derived from opium. Up until a few years ago these drugs would not show up on a drug test at all, and even today if your taking a standard 5 panel drug test such as a DOT drug test, these will NOT show up. The company ordering your test would have to ask for a 9 panel test, although there are some 7 panel tests that include one or both of these drugs. Or they can specifically request the sample be additionally tested for these, but if it's a DOT test, the type of test is regulated by federal regulations and therefore they can ONLY run the standard DOT 5 panel test which WILL NOT show EITHER of these drugs. Neither of these drugs will show false positive for METHAMPHETAMINE either. You are badly misinformed. Codeine, Morphine, and similar that are natural alkaloids of the opium show up as an opiate the same as heroin but synthetic opiates (opioids) will not. I hope this helps

Do not give false answers. The test will tell us the difference. We know if it is an over the counter (L-Meth) or it is a prescription/street drug (D-Meth). The two prescriptions are Desoxyn & Didrex, otherwise it is STREET DRUG!!!
I know I work in the drug test field.

Absolutely, YES. It causes the most false positives for methamphetamine than any other thing out there. But with further and more expensive testing they can figure it out. However most places don't want to pay the extra money for it. It depends on who ordered the test and why you're being tested.
