i had a hair test also, it came back neg.......just a neg ...no vaues or numbers ....said i was neg for substance abuse...i had this test n my own.....cps took my 3 1/2 yearold grandbaby that i had perm custody of since birth..because i tested positive n a urine cup test.. called t-cup..that i only voided a small amount in due to bladder and kidney infection(hospital lab confirmed ) didnt even cover the bottom..she shook and banged cup on counter to get the test strips wet . then shaking to rewet...tested positive for methadone and methamphetamine...my prescriptions were amphetamine salts 30 mg 3 times a day percocet 10 mg 4 times a day ,claritin D, albuteral, nitro stat, Xanax prn, antibiotics for kidney /bladder infection. neuron tin 800 mg.. and morphine sulphate. tramadol.i was not on all that i was changed on pain meds but at the time of testing the tramadol and morphine sulphate was discontinued but could of possibly showed up..i was switched from that to Percocet n neuron-tin my request .. but was still on the amphetamine salts 30 mg 3x day. the nurse refused to send to lab to be confirmed. i begged her..she refused....they came took my baby a few hrs later from our home..i went to hospital had a drug test dne, i was told they couldnot do a test for methamphetamine.that if it was in my system it would show up with the test they ran....then it was sent off to lab, came back neg for methadone and methamphetamine..family court judge refused to even look at my lab work from the hospital.....my baby was taken for good april 14 2014, I appealed the case pro se. but recently it was dismissed cause i was late turning in my brief .... court clerk was supposed to have notified me when record was certified .. they did not...i was told by appeals court to sit back n wait for that notification...it did not come..next thing i know my case was dismissed....because i was not notified......I tried n tried to get help to clear my name..i thought i had enough proof from the hospitalthen i had that hair test done...not to mention i had 2 yrs of monthly random drug test from my dr. office certified records..all of it was even fr0m the lab and hospital..it was all certified....i tried to get a specialist to help me clear my name..i didnt have the money nor the know how to do so.....i tried my hardest to get help...it doesnt seem right that the nurse would not send off the urine to be confirmed..it went in the trash....and it doesnt seem right that i was not allowed to produce my evidence to clear my name....i was charged with neglect in the eyes of the court....my baby is suffering as well as myself over the nurse refusing to send my urine off to be confirmed...i have never laid eyes on methadone nor methamphetamine in my life..nor would i put that stuff in my body yhat i read that ppl put in that stuff..i would never take a drug that was not prescribed to me by my dr.....but im labled as a meth head and neglect er t my baby that is my heart my soul my reason for breathing, my life........I was donr so wrong by my court system, and cps....that something should be done....that test if confirmed by lab . would of showed the truth ....but i was refused that right...if anyone has any idea what i can d from here .. or if an attorney reads this and wants to take my case ..contact me...i have heard from several locals that this case is easy money for a lawyer.....I dont want any money I want the truth to be proven and my name cleared and MY BABY IF possible......someone please help us this is wrong anyone and everyone can see it is..if you saw my records you would be very upset as me..I was in shock over this for many months.. now my head is more clear and im ready to clear my name........ in ky

dr john. I lost my baby after testing positive for methamphetamine. court wuld not look at my hospital lab test that was sent off for conformation. cps nurse refused t send it off to lab. i begged. court judge would not look at my hair test i gt afterward nor the hospital test i gt just a few hrs after cps nurse refused......respond please, in ky.

yea that incident I told you about while researching the meds I discovered blood didn't stay in my system nearly as long as I assumed it would, I offered blood because I figured hair test would cost a fortune but was shocked how cheap the hair test was actually while I was at the lab they told me blood test would cost 550$ but a hair test would cost 115$ I tried to call him to see if I could switch it from blood to hair but he didn't answer the phone then the lady at the lab said they found a blood test that test specifically for amphetamines that cost 120$ so I jumped on it an said I'll take it if I would of knew blood didn't stay that long I would of waited till I got in touch with him an switched it to hair I didn't wanna switch it to hair without consulting him because I didn't wanna seem like I was insulting his intelligence I just wanted to clear myself

and to give you a better idea of the incompetence I experienced, I offered a blood test from the get go my officer walked out of the room then he came back said go too such an such hospital ask for a urine test and he also said the confirmation things you mentioned he told me to make sure it was confirmed an told me to have the results by morning I said ok so I leaves his office on my way too the hospital he specifically told me to go too on the way my phone was in the dash so I turns it on then realized I had a voicemail so I checked my mail it was my officer who changed his mind from urine to blood I didn't bother calling him back when I gets to the hospital I ask for a blood test told them why I needed it I sat for 3hrs then they called me back drawed blood then I sat in a room another hour the doctor came in told me they can't send my results off cuz he didn't give me a chain of custody I had no idea what she was talking about I was very disappointed cuz I knew time wasn't on my side an I was gonna have to walk into his office in the morning an really look guilty with no results all because he shouldn't have sent me to a hospital in the first place a lab is where he was supposed to send me even the doctor told me that so she gave me proof I showed up did what I was supposed to do they just couldn't send the blood off so next morning I'm in his office I explained then he admitted. to his error sent me to a lab I took a 2nd blood test came up negative the other officer who worked with him said it had enough time to leave my system and the reason I didn't get the blood test on time is because of human error now you see what I'm saying?

Blood testing for drugs is VERY LIMITED in the amount of time it can be detected. The parent drugs do not stay long in the blood, but are metabolized into different molecular structures. OTC can cause many false positives, but not if confirmed properly. I do not recommend doing blood tests for drugs unless it is within a few hours after injection or ingestion. Hair testing was actually invented by a close colleague of mine, and frankly, it is not perfect science with some compounds...THC being the hardest to identify. But Meth would definitely show up. incompetence would shock you I know because I was almost a victim of it, yes that's true what you mentioned is the only way to determine a true negative or positive after I tested positive on a regular urine test as far as they was concerned I was guilty then I took blood it came up negative they said it had time to leave my system an still considered me guilty and of course my blood test was confirmed by all the things you mentioned nope I was still a guilty man in their eye's, I finally had to take a hair test that tested for 5 major drugs including amphetamines aka meth the drug they said I was guilty of my hair test came back completely negative on all 5 it was a quick negative too the lowest shut off you could get on them all not a trace of a drug let alone the drug they accused me of doing, so I did my research found the problem had the info on the OTC I took that caused the false positive had it printed out then walked back in their office along with my negative hair analysis results explained why their test said what it said then it was wam bam thank you mam I walked out a free man I'm no longer on probation, my point is they already got her showing positive it's better too arm yourself with the info explaining what caused the false positive then take a test that confirms all the things you mentioned because you never know who your dealing with when I gave blood I was shocked that wasn't good enough so it's better to be safe than sorry

How was your drug test done? Was it urine on a card or an instant read cup? If so, you cannot be called positive! Those tests are screening only, and then it MUST be confirmed afterward, and not just by EIA, it must be confirmed by GC/MS or better yet, LC/MS/MS! PLEASE PEOPLE READ WHAT I HAVE WRITTEN BEFORE! NOTHING CAN BE POSITIVE UNTIL CONFIRMED BYT ONE OF THE METHODS I JUST MENTIONED.

Also after checking everything you've taken, If your positive you haven't had Any methamphetamine at all... Demand they retest using hair... hair won't lie... it cleared my name.. my dr said all of ppl who were testing pos for cocaine before are now testing pos for methamphetamine.. seen it on news also because it's a lot cheaper to make.. that caused my friend to lose her kids.. she thought she was using coke but mixed with methamphetamine... but if I was you check everything then do hair test... and if any of your meds are causing it make sure you ask them find something else but make sure won't cause same problems.. mine was ranitatine..

you're best bet ceara is to research everything you have taken whether it's prescription or nonprescription medications, if you haven't did any meth than obviously it's one of the drug's you've mentioned causing you to test positive, and when you find the one that's causing it have a page printed out that tells everything about the drug especially the part where it explains it can cause a false positive

I took a drug test to day n it said that I was dirty for meth and I have not used any meth.I am on hydrocodon 5/325 ,albutrol in haler also breathing treatments it's also albutrol , zanix abilify and I also had miconazole 3suppository for yeast infection can any of this cause me to test positive for meth Pl help my rights to c my child is at risk also what would the results from the lab say

Think some are mixed up or just adding to the convo.. at the beginning of this we were talking about What can cause false positive for METHAMPHETAMINE.. Not Methadone.. I'm happy to say thanks to the help and suggestions from here I cleared my name. All is gd.. except.. I found out that I have Arthritis in 8 bottom disk, and left hip has grown over pelvic Bone by 2 inches and Right one is just clicking*rubbing bone on bone and right also has degenerative disease on top of the Fibromyalgia, Disk degenerative disease on bottom 6 disk, scoliosis, uneven hips.. I'm currently on waiting list for emergency hip surgery.. I meet surgeon soon so he can decide whether or not he can fix my left hip or he's going to replace it.. but without anything I won't be able to walk soon... remember Jerry we were chatting about all of the hell that one dr was putting me thru? well found new dr who's great about helping my pain n getting me talk to different pain people and he said for the last 10 month only thing dr put on my note was that wanted refill.. I was in begging n crying saying I could feel bone on bone running n this was all new.. he kept sayi.g Fibromyalgia doesn't do that you just need counseling.. blah blah.. my dr now is helping me go after and either report him if course and sue for money if possible. The new dr said not once did be even put on notes that I wanted new up to date blood n xrays... and waiting for orthopedic surgeon but all of this including surgery could've been prevented if old dr did xrays, blood work or sent me specialist! if you guys are dead serious about knowing somethings wrong... by law your entitled to second opinion without just transferring to new drs.. my new dr has increased pains meds to keep me comfy until I can get operation done... but even doing that I'm going to suffer lots with everything g wrong with my back.. and chances are that fixing hips will make back pain worse but atleast I will be still walking! I'm soo thankful for all your kind words n help Jerry! :)

NO The Meth is going to show up when the drug is confirmed. If they check Amphetamines and Methamphetamines, it will show. Phentermin will cause a cross reaction false positive for amphetamine on a card, cup, or EIA analysis. You can't fudge it. Get your Sister off Meth, it is PURE POISON it is a destroyer of everything and everyone it comes in contact with.

hey concerned sister, a false positive is a false positive on a urine test so when it shows up meth and you say it isn't then it's your word against theirs, but there is a such thing as getting down too the nitty gritty, like a blood test, hair test, special urine test, and all those tests can distinguish a false positive from a real positive, so even if the meds your sister is taking has been known too cause false positives it won't do her any good because they can prove beyond the shadow of a doubt that meth was in fact in her system, so even if she dodges a bullet plenty more is coming her way in life she is bound too get hit so my advice too you is get your sister help to get her off meth before it completely destroys her life and the people around her, the only way your sister is gonna walk outta this thing a true winner is if she conquers her meth addiction hope my advice helped best of luck an wishes stay strong:)

So if my sister did ice & she gets her urine drug scene in 2 days will she be ok because she's prescribed phentermine the diet pill? Do they both show up as amphetamines? Or can the urine test tell the difference between the two?

Usually not a blood test. However, once again...you must get all tests confirmed by either GC/MS or LC/MS/MS. That is the ONLY way to be sure of the compound (drug) of interest is present or not. Good luck.

Liars? I tested positive for methadone and amphetamines and the only edications I atake are Lexapro, Topomax, Gabapentin, L;onopin, Percoset 5 mg and a prescription cough syrup without codeine. Never knew anything about methadone until this happened, and am extremely intolerant of any amphetmines. What caused this positive test, when I had a drug test on Friday. I had a drug test 2 weeks before and they did not show up and nothing has changes in those 2 weeks. Help, I don't want to fail my next drug test for
percoset as I am in chronic pain.
