What Is The Legal Dosage For Oxycodone In Nc

Not to long ago I ended up at the hospital w/a four day sever migraine. Nothing seem to work for me and things were getting worse and worse. The emergency doctor prescribed oxycodone; however I am afraid I might be getting addicted. I am truly scared and concerned because I notice quite a few changes, after I take them and the effect stops, I start to feel really depressed, my heart beats faster then usual and I start to feel restless and anxious. I most say that I suffer of Depression and take medication for it which has been working for me but when I use it with Oxycodone I start to feel hopeless and emotional. Please help, I have been trying to withdraw but once I do so, I start having sleepless nights and feeling of depressed.

Well, narcotics are actually depressants, that's how they work, they depress areas of the central nervous system, so they can easily cause you to suffer worsening depression and to be emotional.

You may need the dosage of your antidepressant adjusted, or an adjustment of the Oxycodone. There are also other narcotics you can try that may not cause the same symptoms.

Have you talked to your doctor, yet?

Did they try anything else at the hospital? Or did they just jump straight to Oxycodone?

I suffer from migraines too and used to take oxycodone based meds and had to change to Norco b/c I got those exact same side effects and couldn't take it. Everybody responds differently to meds and even though it is said the oxy is stronger, if you don't want to add to your depression and anxiety then change or you will take it just to stop those feelings and that will lead to addiction. For now taper down, even if it means cutting your pills and going down slowly. If you get an RX to Norco and explain to your doc why, he will be happy for you to change and you won't have the withdrawal and I think will be happier, I know I am. It's not a noticeable difference in strength but I was exactly where you are so I hope this helps. Good luck.

If you are already depressed and r taking meds 4 it, even if you passed the 1 month mark, you will still be depressed. The underlying issue of depression must be addressed, unless it is temporary. Perhaps the mixing of the two meds has left you with diff. side effects. Feeling hopeless is part of the depression as I am sure you know. With respect to the migraines, boy I know what u speak of. When I had them, there was no med that could eliminate that. Try taking your meds at different times and don't get addicted to the roxi's please. That is a worse migraine you don't want to deal with. Lynne, I read your post, and although I'm
Not a Dr., I can reccomend to you what helps me. I'm also on oxycodone, however, I take Lexapro 20 mg for depression and when I migraine hits, my Dr prescribed me Butalbital Comp-Codeine #3. I only take these when I absolutely need to. Along with all my extreme back, necks, herniated disks's, and TBI, I suffer from migraines more and more frequently. However, I try to take this before bed. Personally I feel like it's sorta like a tranquilizer of forts. But it does DEFINETLY help. Aldo, I've been on Lexapro after trying approx 6 other antidepressants, and I feel it "evens" me out without drowsiness. Hope this was helpful!!

Thanks, I tried Fioricet but without the codeine and it didn't help me. I haven't found an antidepressant that helped or that didn't have side effects I could tolerate well so for now I am good with where I am and do whatever I can to reduce triggers. For me a lack of sleep and alcohol are huge triggers, other than that, Excedrin Migraine is the best stuff out there as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the information.
