What Is The Best Generic Version Of Wellbutrin Xl - Watson Or Anchen? (Page 53) (Top voted first)

My doctor will not prescribe generic Wellbutrin XL but my insurance will no longer pay for brand name drugs. I will have to pay about $7000 per yer for what I am taking now (3 of the 150mg Wellbutrin XL brand name per day). I am reading that the problem with the generics is the time release mechanism and not the drug itself and that some are better than others. Anybody have experience with the generics made by Watson and /or Anchen?

Curious...I just signed up for the same prescription at Canada drug stop, and it was $151 for 3 months....wonder what that's about?

I was paying $50 a month at Direct Success and moved to canadadrugstop and now it is $65 a mon but they charge for 3 months @ $195! At first they quoted a higher amount than that and when I sad that someone else was getting it for less than what they quoted
they came down to $65 a mon. I was
suspicious but went ahead with it since I am
desperate for name brand.

I just received Wellbutrin 300 XL from AdvCare, an actual pharmacy in Ontario - need to fill our registration, brief health history and customs forms. Cost was 145.06 for 3 months, and 22.50 shipping and insurance. It is definitely the Canadian version of the drug (pills have slightly different appearance, check to make sure this is the actual Canadian version). Ordered on 3/17, received 3/22, will post how well this works.

I have had great success with the Anchen bupropion 150 xl. I take two in the morning. The 300 xl didn't work as well as the two 150s. I tried the brand name initially, but when my insurance company quit paying for it, I switched to the Anchen and couldn't tell the difference.

I see that you have used Anchen 102, which is the 300 mg. tablet. I switched to taking two 150s instead, and it has worked well for me. Also, I have had good experience using canadadrugs. I haven't ordered Wellbutrin there yet, but I have gotten other name brand drugs there that my insurance wouldn't pay for, and it came quickly and was indeed the name brand.

How much is the wellbutrin generic xl from PAR? Does it wotmrk the same as the brand in the same dose and designation?
Just beaware that 150mg sr is mfg by Glax cokline
150mg xl is mfg by Valaent

Sami, two years ago I was on the Par for 5 months after Watson took theirs off the market. The first three months were like the drug didn't have enough of the medication to work. Then the 4th & 5th month were just as good as the Teva and Watson.

With Actavis and Par I had problems with consistency. With both manufacturers I got batches that worked and batches that didn't. With Teva (on for a year) and Watson (on for two years) I never had a problem with consistency.

Hello, I have been taking Brand Wellbutrin XL 300 daily for depression. I lost my daughter to a DO ..related to Oxycontin. I had been in therapy for almost 6 years. I continue to see my Dr every 3 month for med check. It is not covered by Medicare drug plan..not much anyway. I found out about 3 years ago valiant,through Direct Success, I was buying mIl order $50 a month. Pleased with my service. Then 2 weeks ago I get a call that they can no longer sell it to me because I was on Medicare drug plan. I now don't know what to do. AARPSaver Rx even with a discount. I can't take generic because of Heart conduction issue WPW I have I plant monitor for 9 months. They are telling me it would be $600 a month..$400. Discount.. Anyone know where or how I can get this medication? I have a few month supply. I won't get depressed ..I am doing really well, but if I miss taking one day I notice. My Dr doesn't want me to stop taking the Brand. Cardiologist told me never to go on generic, he doesn't want me taking any Generics.

I was also told I can't get mine through direct success anymore. I even asked her to just change my info to "no insurance" and she said she couldn't because we were on a recorded phone call. HOWEVER, I just found Canadadrugstop and a 90 day supply of brand name Wellbutrin XL 300mg is $117 plus $10 shipping! So suck it Direct Success, I found a better deal!

I have successfully transitioned from once a day 300XL to (2) of the 150SR. I use Sandoz and insist with my pharmacy that they stick to it.

Sami, re: paying by credit card....on new orders canadadrugstop insists on a check, credit card isn't possible.

They told me upfront that mail from Canada to the US takes 3 weeks for delivery. That's why they send out a 90 day supply. I had to go to my Psychiatrist and beg him for free samples to tide me over until I got the order. He could only spare a 14 day supply so I took one 300 er every other day to tide me over until I got my order.

A -- do you take both of the 150s together, 24 hours apart, or do you take one at a time, 12 hours apart?

Given that some of the generic problems seem to be with the timing of how the dose hits your bloodstream, there are some people who might benefit from experimenting with how often they take it...

I take them both at night. I would experiment though to see what is best for you. It might be one in morn and one in night.

I was having an odd reaction to the glaokline 150sr.I would start coughing if i was in a warm room or if it seemed if my body temp went up. Doesnt happend with the 150 xl. VALEANT... any one else have that reaction? I .I DO KNOW that Valeant 300 xl can affect your sweating during the hot weather..found out one pool party..needed ice packs all over me and a friend alerted me to check my meds. Shur'nuf read PDR

I hope the Par bupropion works for you. It did not for me. I had been on Actavis previously for treatment of ADHD and it worked great. Due to a switch in insurance, I have now been on Par. It simple did NOTHING for me and it took awhile to figure it out because it coincided with the death of my mother. I thought it was all the stress causing me to feel more ADD symptoms. I haven't had a good night's sleep in forever because my 'hyperactive' brain wakes me up...I take Adderall and then I can go back to sleep. After jumping the hoops, my doctor ordered a different generic...turns out it's the one I was on previously that worked! I took the first dose of it today and can already feel the difference. My brain slows down... in a good way... I am more relaxed, less hyper, less scattered. The Par bupropion literally did NOTHING that I could feel. I read what another poster said about both these companies having inconsistent batches. :( I hope that's NOT going to be what I experience with Actavis. So far so good. Again, I really hope it works for you but if you feel no difference, talk to your doctor. If treating depression, I know it certainly takes longer than a few hours to notice a difference. But for me with ADHD, it's noticed with the first dose and it continues to be more effective until a plateau is reached.

I have been having trouble with all the generic wellbutrin bupropion for over 6 months now. They have all been buying each others companies up and making everyone sick in the process. If you do get a good batch it will probably be different next month. I have had great success with Mylan pharmaceutical but I haven't been able to get it and I'm not sure if it is still manufactured the same now anyway. I'm giving the brand name Wellbutrin one last chance as I have it ordered from Canada for around 50$ per month. They have been great to work with, don't cha know. There very legit and easy to work with. I should have the brand name Wellbutrin in my mail box any day and I'm very hopefully for the good old days. What they're doing with the generics or making it from is in unjustifiable.
