What Is The Best Generic Version Of Wellbutrin Xl - Watson Or Anchen? (Page 52) (Top voted first)
UpdatedMy doctor will not prescribe generic Wellbutrin XL but my insurance will no longer pay for brand name drugs. I will have to pay about $7000 per yer for what I am taking now (3 of the 150mg Wellbutrin XL brand name per day). I am reading that the problem with the generics is the time release mechanism and not the drug itself and that some are better than others. Anybody have experience with the generics made by Watson and /or Anchen?
Is it the real Wellbutrin made by Valiant or that stuff made in Turkey?
Have your Doctor either prescribe brand and then get generic from Pharmacy--Doctor has nothing to do with you getting Generic!
Or Have your Doctor do a Medical necessity for insurance and fight for it.
Go to a Canadian Pharmacy & get Wellbutrin 150 xl for $150/3 months. I've been getting my medication this way for years because I cannot tolerate the generic version, and my pharmacy wants $1100.00 for a 30 day supply of the name brand.
Watson labs works great for me. Mylan good but expensive. Sandoz never works well for me... when I see those pink pills in my bottle I get like "sigh" ugh!
Can you tell me what canadian pharmacy you use to fill your prescription? I am trying to find one that is trustworthy and will provide genuine brand name Wellbutrin.
SJS - After a ton of research, I'm going to try canadadrugstop. I checked the status and meaning of their certifications, ratings from patients and various organizations, where brand wellbutrin is manufactured, etc. I feel good about them and I'm obsessive about research and staying on the right drug.
That said, in the meantime I started the PAR generic so I could continue some kind of treatment while sorting this out. They look like the brand name pills and so far have not been dose dumping me into rage, irritability or depression. I've been on them 3 weeks and can't feel a difference from brand. That's not long enough to really tell though. The brand from Canada is, I think, cheaper than the generic even with my insurance.
Saw this week in the news that Valiant is under investigation for accounting practices. Maybe that's the reason for all these mail order pharmacies discontinuing their $50 a month program!
Have Valeant and Direct Success ended the $50/mo Wellbutrin mail order program? My last shipment was January 13. Has anyone else seen one since?
They called me up on the telephone a week ago and told me they discontinued the $50 program! I only had a weeks worth of pills left and asked if they would fill it one more time so I could make other arrangements and they told me absolutely not. That Valiant told them never to fill another $50 prescription for Wellbutrin. They took my insurance info and tried to send it thru and called back to say that it was rejected which I knew it would be because Blue Cross won't pay for name brand! I got angry and asked for a supervisor. I was promptly disconnected and called backand got a supervisor on the lline and of course she gave a canned verbal response. When I asked how they could just cut people off of psychotropic medication with no warning she told me to call Valiant!
So knowing what we all know about generics vs name brand and drug company's over charging....who are the next best presidential candidates in our field and of current choices?
The presidential candidate who will take government out of healthcare! The government doesn't belong in regulating my personal health and doesn't belong in my doctor's business! This is all so unbelievable! Now with the regulations on narcotics and doing away with strong pain killers I'm scared to death that if I am dying from cancer or some other painful situation they are going to let us die some grisly, painful death because they are afraid that a terminally I'll person will become addicted! They are just that stupid because government can't think out of the box!
I tried to renew my prescription at Direct Success for Wellbutrin XL 300, and told them to take any insurance information off my record. I was told that it would be $450 for a three month supply, that I was no longer eligible for the $50 month price, since it was verified that I had Medicare. So looks like Direct Success is off the table -- other suggestions? This is a bummer.
Kathleen -- was the $450/3months your co-pay? Or the total price?
Can you update if the Canadaian drug company works for you? Also I have been trying Anchen for 2 months and it's been terrible they say that that's Par phamisutical now the generics have been all over the place different every month I'm going to try and get the brand name Wellbutrin or try and quit taking everything all together. You said that your Par brand looked like the brand name I've never seen that, I've always had A102 stamped on Par and Anchen pills. Can you clarify
$450 fo a 3month supply of Wellbutrin 300 XL.!!! WHERE!!! I pay almost that for 1month. I am on medicare and Direct refused to take me.
Yes that is true. I pay about $420 for 30 wellbutrin 300 xl. Today I needed to buy 150xl Valanet wellbutrin and it was over $200. I had been given 150 sr wellbutrin and I realized that it was making my body hot and causing a cough. Never happened before then I saw it was mfg by glaxcokline. Not good for me!!!
CF, $450 was for a three month supply...which is too much for me....see answer to Iarscoin posted right after this...
Canadadrugstop. I was on Direct Success and have Medicare. I am now signed up at Canadadrugstop and paying $195 for a 3 mon. supply of name brand Wellbutrin xl 300.
