What Is The Best Generic Version Of Wellbutrin Xl - Watson Or Anchen? (Page 25)

My doctor will not prescribe generic Wellbutrin XL but my insurance will no longer pay for brand name drugs. I will have to pay about $7000 per yer for what I am taking now (3 of the 150mg Wellbutrin XL brand name per day). I am reading that the problem with the generics is the time release mechanism and not the drug itself and that some are better than others. Anybody have experience with the generics made by Watson and /or Anchen?

Actavis and Anchen were not equivalent to brand for me and many others. TEVA Budeprion XL, which the FDA said was not equivalent to brand and pulled from the market, was equivalent to brand for me and many others. Laboratory testing without follow-up testing on actual people is meaningless.

I have been taking wellbutrin xl for about 15 years but had to switch to the generic version when Glaxo-Smith_Kline Pharmaceuticals sold the patent to TEVA. My depression has worsened. I never thought to do any research on it. Now I'm concerned. I've had suicidal thoughts and they are pretty much daily. I've had a hard life and have no job and my boyfriend lost his today. I don't know what I'm going to do. So is Watson good or not because when I picked up my medicine it looked different so I called Walmart and talked to the pharmacist and asked who made the pill and who distributed it.

Ok so I got my wellbutrin from direct access today. It looks just like the real brand I used to get. It definitely Is stronger than the actavis generic. definitely do not have much appetite

Take those back to the store if they are bupropion 300 hci xr made by the manufacturer watson. Those were taken off the market a few months ago by the fda! Look a few posts down and another blogger pasted the announcement of the recall!

I have been on generic Wellbutrin XL 300 for years. There are some that have been ineffective and others that worked great. All generics are not the same.

I thought turmeric was supposed to have anti-depressant effects. Did your pharmacist say that the turmeric would interfere with the buproprion?

Find a different pharmacy. Or find a different doctor. The doctor should not be ignoring your suffering and symptoms.

I recently had surgery for colon cancer and now have a permanent colostomy. Several times while emptying my bag (sorry to be so graphic but I hope to find answers), there are WHOLE tablets of my Bupropion HCL XL!!!! I've been taking this for years and am wondering how long this has been going on. Apparently the tablets are not dissolving because of the coating used by the pharmaceutical company. I notified my pharmacist and am waiting for her to check it out.

My doctor told me about that when I first started taking it and if you read the long pharmaceutical leaflet that comes with it it says this can happen and that it is normal.

I just started taking Bupropion HCL XL 300 mg manufacturer: Activis. This is my 2nd day and I can't tell I have taken anything? Besides when I woke up this am it was hard to get up. I'm ADD, depressed and I have insomnia. I could sleep better, I haven't cried or felt depressed but it hasn't helped
My Focus. I know it's just the 2nd day but I thought I would be able to tell I actually took something!! Should I change or is this how it's suppose to be? Please help!!

First, follow the recommendations of your doctor, not internet folks. It is unlikely 2 days would have an effect.

I've been on generic wellbutrin xl 150 by anchen for about 10 days. I've never been on the brand name. I get headaches everyday, I get tired about 3-4 hours after taking the med, by early afternoon I feel like I'm " coming down " from the meds and I just today stopped crying on a daily basis. The first few days I was on it, it felt like an emotional rollercoaster from hell, went from depression to crying for no reason to anxiety to very on edge snapping at everyone. Now my body feels weak from time to time , I have random headaches, I don't really feel happy and I still have no libido which I was hoping to have after taking these meds. Should I demand the name brand ? Do you think it's a generic thing? I'm 28 and I want to keep up with my husband's libido and being happy would help too.

I've been taking brand name Wellbutrin and switched two weeks ago to generic. I've been on Wellbutrin for one year when I switched to generic. I can definitely tell the difference. I've had depression, not wanting to go anywhere, not wanting to socialize, headaches. But, Wellbutrin is so expensive. I guess I'll just have to try & give the generic more time. Not happy
