i found out that i was pregnant & about 2-3 weeks, and i took searle pills insert 1 & swallow 2 but up to now my period has not come down as yet, so i was wondering if something is wrong here?

My name is claudia. I'm 15 about to be 16 and I might be pregnant my mom has been giving me a white pull that reads searle 1421 saying its for "allergies" and is a "vitamin". I'm worried, could this harm me? And if it can what can I do to make my mom stop giving them to me?

i am betty..i jus want to ask again..will periods be late after abortion?i took the searle tablets and tested 3 weeks later and i was not pregnant...so will my period be late this moth because i have not got it yet

Betty, yes, you should consult a doctor.

However, the symptoms you described are all normal side effects of using these medications to end a pregnancy. What they basically do is induce a miscarriage and any time this happens, there is going to be cramping and more bleeding than normal.

Women who suffer a natural miscarriage, have an abortion or give birth can bleed for several weeks, afterwards.

i was only 4 weeks pregnant and i took searle,within 4 hours i got my period.during my period i experienced lots of pain and lots of cloths appeared and bled out.today is 11 days and i still have my period and pain.i stil get 1 or two clots.is something wrong with me?did the tablet work for me and why isnt the period stopping?should i consult a doctor

Searle is the name of a drug manufacturer, that is now part of the Pfizer corporation, so I am not quite certain which one of their products you are talking about.

They manufacture both the Cytotec tablet, which can be used to induce abortion and a morning after tablet.

Cytotec contains the active ingredient Misoprostol, it is usually used completely vaginally, one every 12 hours, for a total of 3 dosages. If it is taken orally, the dosages are still split up and it is left to dissolve sublingually, between the gum and cheek.

The morning after pills are hormonal tablets, there are several of them, that are usually taken in one or two dosages, depending on which type they are, within 3 to 5 days of unprotected sex.

The main difference with this second option is that they only work to prevent implantation of the embryo. If you were already pregnant and took them, they will not abort the pregnancy. They are only effective for prevention.

Do you remember which one of these options it was that you used?

Even if you took the Misoprostol/Cytotec, it is not 100% effective at eliminating pregnancy, so you may need to see your doctor for another termination method.
