I kindly request to know for which diseases Oleanz 5mg use and what are the side effects?

hi,
My wife met with an accident. She got head injured. Her memory is intact. But she is too agresssive. She abuses every one at home with the worst words when she is irritated. She speaks nicely with friends. I consulted a psychiatrist, he prescribed oleanz tablet. But she is not willing to take the medicine. She is saying that she is normal and says that the tablet has many side effects like she will become fat, face will become ugly, will have older look etc. We tried to convince her many times, but she is adamant and not willing to take the tablet. She only cooks and maintains everything at home. Hence it is not possible to give the tablet without her knowledge. Also there are kids at home. Please advise what to do in this situation. we are having tough day every day.

please do tell me about oleanz and its side effects and efficiency . For what diseasea is it prescribed and how long the treatment can last.

My husband was taking oleanz 2.5mg once in a day in night. now he is taking half in a day. he was prescribed that medicine because he was suffering from anxiety disorder and also he use to hit himself many a times lead to bleed. he generally avoid discussions,get over hyper. he started taking it from Aug-11 and since last month he is taking half of it in a day. but when ever there is a friction between two of us he kind of react the same way though now he only says that should i repeat that again,. i don't know if he is really suffering or is he pretending?? he never consult a psychiatrist, this medicine is prescribed by a physician that too on the basis of what his parents described to him. i don't know what to do??

QAZI, I can't find any information under the name psisufenia or a name for a condition that has those symptoms.

There is nothing, however, in the Olanzapine information that lists it as causing anything like that.

What have her doctors said caused it and what are their recommendations?

My friend's daughter was taking Oleanz 2.5 from the year 2000 to 2007 then after doctor changed it to oleanz 5 mg till January 2011 when she noticed that her eyes were not opening.She is suffering from psisufenia.Please let me know whether her eyes closing is due to side effect of using Oleanz 5 mg for longer period.

Oleanz contains the active ingredient Olanzapine, it is an antipsychotic medications that is also used to treat other forms of mental health issues.

Side effects can include: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and lethargy.

These are very potent medications, so their use has to be closely watched.

hi doctor. my father met a serious accident and had head injury in form of brain hammerage. he was operated and now stable.but,in every evening he becomes hyper active.he talkes so much that we can't understand,he tries to left the bed often. our doctor had adviced him to take oleanz 2.5mg once a day in night. but, after taking this pill 3-4 days, the pill not works. so, I would like to ask you a Que that may I give this pill more than once in a day ? is there any side effect of the pill ?
