What Happens If You Take 2 2mg Of Xanax

i took 2 and a half 2mg xanax and i dont feel anything except slower is that normal or have they not kicked in yet? tookem 10 min apart from eachother and idk im not feeling much different

Having read the dosage guidelines posted below here, I would think that you should be fine with a 4mg dose.

Information regarding the proper dosage for Xanax states the following:

"Treatment for patients with anxiety should be initiated with a dose of 0.25 to 0.5 mg given three times daily. The dose may be increased to achieve a maximum therapeutic effect, at intervals of 3 to 4 days, to a maximum daily dose of 4 mg, given in divided doses."

"The successful treatment of many panic disorder patients has required the use of xanax at doses greater than 4 mg daily"

It's hard to believe that anybody would need 2 milligrams of Xanax at one time. 1 milligram of Xanax is a very high dosage and is also a horrible withdrawal if you don't have the pills on a everyday basis. I would advise you to please lower that dosage down and down and down and get off of Xanax and try Valium because valium withdrawal is not nearly as severe as a Xanax withdrawal. And Valium is a good drug for short term but not for taking it for months and months or years and years at a time.

Why not try just 1 mg and see how that feels. Xanax is not a sleep medicine although people take it to sleep

As I remember, a Zanbar is 2 mgs. of Xanax. Is that what you took? Someone correct me if I am wrong. But it takes 4 Zanbars to get me to sleep. But I am very tolerant to Benzo's.
