Recently had a positive result for cocaine on a hair test. I'm a 56 yr. old diabetic and i'm in dire need of this job. Suggestions?? I've already gone the route of contesting the result.

I'm a mom of two beautiful children and recently had them taken from me. I willingly gave a hair follicle and urine test bc I know I haven't done anything. There were things that showed up, but the psych medications I'm on accounted for everything except for cocaine. I was very eager to get the results in so I could get my babies back. But the only one thing that's unaccounted for is cocaine, which showed up in my hair follicle. Now, I am 33 years old and haven't touched it since I was probably about 17. Ever since I became a mother, that has been my job and to priority. Can someone PLEASE suggest as to what I should do here? I do have a kidney infection that I have an appointment to see my PCP for next week. I'm desperate here. Please help me prove it was won't so I can have my little loves back.... PLEASE HELP US RETURN TO OR NORMAL LIVES...

Yes a liver disease but the toxicologists plainly said that those test are accurate which by reading many blogs im positive they are bogus science at this time also it has cost me 6000.00 to defend my case. People beware of the D..mn dcs. They honestly have no legal right to even make u pee in a cup. They will lie on reports and if u call them out on their mistakes then you are screwed. Dont trust them and dont even open your door for them in TN they have been under federal investigation for quit some time

Thank you for that. I'm not giving up. I'll pay for my own hair follicle test using the same ppl CPS does and see what happens then. I can't even talk to my babies on the phone!!!

I have been clean from cocaine for 15 years now, went to treatment and had kids. Now that I went to jail for a tag on my car, my past is coming back. My urine tests are all neg(-) for 3 months and my hair was positive!!! How? I have not touched this s*** in years. How did this happen??? Help! I raised my 2 kids, 1 in in pre med and the other one 17 years old. I cant see why they don't care about my 10 negative urine tests, but this 1 hair test will end me and my son. What do I do? Why is it showing positive?

What state are u with as a cps case worker? I had a life changing issue with the state of tennessee. And i have been a foster parent since 1999. Do u know who i could report this travisty to in order to obtain change in a terribly uneducated system. People need to band together and challenge their qualifications to even violate your private life

I believe y'all. A drug counselor told me in 2015, that cocaine can get in your hair through oral sex and or when your sex partners sweat if he or she uses it. I hope that is helpful. Go to another lab and take your own test. It will be your negative results against their positive results. Take care of you and your family and stay away from folks that cause a mess in your life...

Don't think a false positive can't happen to you. I tested positive for cocaine when I took a pre-employment hair follicle drug test, and I have never used it in my life. This cost me a job opportunity in which I'd be making significantly more money than my current position. If I were a user, I wouldn't have been foolish enough to take the damn test.
The doctor who called to give me the results was extremely rude and refused to allow me to retest, and human resources was of no help. Unfortunately, I didn't have the money to hire a lawyer and fight. I plan to have my hair sample retested before the lab disposes of it. I wish that I'd taken an independent test elsewhere.
Those of you accusing everyone of being a drug user need to get off your high horse. There is research that proves that this type of drug test can yield false positives. Even the federal government doesn’t recognize hair as a reliable sample for federally regulated programs.
Studies have proven that hair can absorb drugs from environmental exposure and may show higher concentrations in dark-colored hair and hair that has been damaged by cosmetic treatments, including dying and thermal straightening.
The American Chemical Society published a study in their journal which confirmed that "a pre-treatment step can cause the drug on the outside of a hair shaft to wash into it and potentially lead to falsely identifying someone as a drug user."
I found it interesting, yet hardly surprising, to learn that every independent scientific organization that has studied hair testing concluded that it isn’t reliable, except for scientists with ties to the industry.
We should not be using such an unreliable testing method when people's families and livelihoods are at stake.

I totally agree. I took 3 different hair topical test with in days of each other and received 3 completely different test results concluding the bogus science associated with damning people as druggies when in fact there is so many external influences along with internally different of the chemical make up of our bodies. This test is questionable at best and should not be allowed to destroy good people.

Are you serious cps worker because all im hearing from you is that she is guilty? Look I'm dealing with cps myself and I can guarantee that I've never done a drug in my life and I came back positive for cocaine and you may not believe this either. I wear lace front wigs, I had this new lady do my braids and I know that is how I got cocaine in my follicle. So if you are a woman you should be ashamed of yourself for insinuating that this person is lying and that she needs to get help. I know people that put that s*** in their noses and it's a damn shame...
