Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic, so it works by removing excess fluid from the body, which carries sodium with it.

On top of making you heat and sun sensitive, which could lead to quicker skin burning and heat stroke, it can also cause dehydration, which the sun and high levels of hit can worsen.
