Please help me to understand exactly what drug I'm really taking. I was prescribed Wellbutrin, but was given Bupropion HCL. At the bottom of the bottle, it says substituted for Wellbutrin TBS B/W. Ive been prescribed Wellbutrin xl 150 once daily for perimenapausal symptoms, mainly severe hot flashes. Today is my 11th day. Can anyone tell me please how long I should give this dose. To date I don't see that its helped. After reading many stories on this forum, it sounds like I should give it some time. ## It should take you more or less one month for the Wellbutrin XL to really get going/kick in and for you to actually feel its effects on a continual basis. I have been on Welbutrin 150mg for a few years and may need to add another antidepressant now. 300 mg is too much for me and doesn't work. I was given Lexepro 10mg but do not want to continue with this drug. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I could take that wouldn't have the horrific side and withdrawal effects of Lexepro? VA doc has me on 2xwellbutrin hcl 150mg SA (VA Product)tabs a day - been on for 20 days. Side effects are kicking my butt. He said I can quit by taking 1 tab in the morning for 3 days and then just quitting - sounds 'cold turkey' to me. He also agreed that if I wanted to I could cut my dose back to a single tab in the AM. I see him again on June 9. Am I correct that 'SA' tabs cannot be divided? If I was going taper it seems that would be the way to go but I've read you not supposed to divide them. PERIOD! Hi Gang, I have ADD, a PhD and depression that seems to be rooted in the ADD... Like I have great ideas but 1. I disagree with myself about what to do first and 2. I have a hard time estimating time and so have a hard time organizing my days. On Wellbutrin 150 mg now for 1.5 months and I feel great, no big difference except some killer headaches at first and feeling thirsty a lot. Drinking water helps a lot! Haha. I recently was prescribed wellbutrin and received little white pills labeled a102. Well last month insurance didn't cover them when I went to pay for my meds the pharmacist changed the pill to make it cheaper. I hate these ones and my insurance is back but they won't give me the other pills. How do I get them back or what would I specifically say to another pharmacy to make sure I get the ones I started with? ## You have to ask your psychiatrist or prescriber to specify the brand of generic you want. im pregnant and since being put on wellbutrin my obgyn has told me my urine tested positive for methamphetamine and is threatining to take the baby away when its born. what can I do? ## I don't know what to do either except bring it up with you're doctor. I recently had a urine test come back positive for opiates and amphetamines. I have a prescription for wellbutrin, oxycodone, and Seroquel. Now my medications got put on hold till confirmation comes back. ## Hey GQ sorry to hear about your challenges. Since you have a script for the medications it is expected for the Oxycodone to test positive for opiates. I have read all the problems people are having with the generic versions of the Wellbutrin XL but I have had similar problems with the change in generics for Wellbutrin SR. I originally took 300 to 400 mgs of Wellbutrin SR manufactured by Watson. I have had several changes but did okay on the Wellbutrin by Watson and Sandoz. I went into a deep depression when I was switched to the Mylan but my insurance at first denied a different brand. Now they will switch to another generic with a special process. I have tried at least 15 meds over many years for major depression & wellbutrin is the only one that ever worked. The immediate release and the SR versions increased my problems w/anxiety, so the Dr. put me on 2pills in am of the XL 150 mg. version, and it has helped me have a life, not commit suicide, etc. Since insurers no longer want to pay for brand-name, I also tried wellbutrin XL150 mg, 2 pills in am from all 4 of the remaining generic mfgs , over the course of at least 6 mos. Felt pretty bad but hung on as I thot there was a lite at the end of the tunnel. 3 generics hd no effect, 1 had at most a quarter of the efficacy of the brand name. I have a few questions regarding a medication I recently started. I was prescribed Wellbutrin, and the medication I received has the title "Bupropion HCL 75 mg" (I'm assuming this is the generic version). 1) On several online forums and medical dictionaries etc, there is a lot of mention of SR, XL, etc... How do I know whether the medicine I have is Suspended Release, or Extended release? 2) Under the guidance of my doctor, we are slowly beginning to up my daily dose. I have been taking one 75 mg pill in the morning for the past 7 days. Now I am supposed to double this, taking two pills per day. Do pay attention to the company brand names. I've been on Sandoz brand for years with no problem. In fact, I was doing pretty good. Then my pharmacy closed or retired. The new pharmacy sent me Mylan brand, a blue color with an M non it. They make me lethargic and doped. So generic companies ingredients are not all exactly the same. ## I started taking the blue pill by mylan a week ago and do not like it. It makes me irritable, dizzy, anxious. I was taking the generic brand by Watson before that for 2 weeks and I felt great. I just stopped Wellbutrin because it had run its course, now been on Vybrid for 2 weeks it is not helping me at all. Wonder if it is the right "class" of antidepressants for me , Im only experiencing side affects, no happiness at the least bit. ## Hello, Bri! How are you? I am going off Wellbutrin and have started Viibryd I have terrible lethargy. I feel like I am carrying around 15 pounds of led. Anyone experience this? ## Hello, Bri! How are you? Has anyone had success taking Wellbutrin and Viibrydd but not simultaneously? So far Viibryd is doing nothing for me and I have been on it for two weeks.
