Wellbutrin Missed Period (Top voted first)

I don't care what the research states:

Wellbutrin causes your period to be late. I'm usually on time with my period, been taking the medicine 2 x a day (300mg) for 6 weeks now, still no period. I took 2 pregnancy test both negative. Several women on blogs are experiencing this same problem. I'll post again after I get my period, so you can have a timeline. I hope this helps.

But what about having NO period. Mine is not lengthened... I am 8 days late!

Hi! I have been on wellbutrin 300 mg once a day since February. Before Wellbutrin I was very regular in my cycles but now I barely have some light bleeding every 50 days ca. or not period (bleeding) at all. I took several pregnancy tests and all were negative. So it seems to be this is a side effect too (as nausea, headache...)

Omg same! I never post on these kinds of things but I’m almost a week late right now. I could be pregnant but am testing negative. When I was pregnant before, I was positive days before my missed period

This is so true. I'm not sure when you posted this but I've been on it for 2 months and still no period. I was worried as well several pregnancy test. All negative thank God. I'm not worry to much next month I will follow up with Primary care. This alone stresses you out.

I was taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg for 6 weeks now and i got 2x my period every 2 weeks almost... I didn't have that problem before. Anybody else have the same experience as me? It's so weird...

Yeah it’s happening to me too, just started Wellbutrin 2/3 weeks ago and late for my period. I’m glad I’m not alone in this! Hopefully it doesn’t become too messed up, I like to be able to predict it

I just started Wellbutrin a few weeks ago (on top of Zoloft) and all of a sudden I'm 4 days late. Freaked out, started googling, and found this thread. I hope that's all the problem is..and now I gotta talk to my doc. Sigh..

So glad I found this forum. I am 6 days late, and I was freaking out. Pregnancy is a possibility but I’ve gotten 2 negative tests. I am like clockwork regular but started Wellbutrin 150 mg almost 4 weeks ago and now my period is MIA.

This is why I love the internet, and thank you all for posting in this forum!!!!! I thought I was losing my mind.

On Wellbutrin taking 300mg. Period was supposed to come almost a week ago now, and still nothing...and my period comes regularly like clockwork. I've taken two pregnancy tests and they've both come back negative, so I'm thankful, but I agree with you all. It definitely can cause your period to come late.

I doubled my dose of Wellbutrin (now 300mg a day) about 2 months ago and haven’t had my period since…I also got negative pregnancy test

I am going through the exact same thing. I haven’t had my period at all this month, took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I started Wellbutrin this month, and I’ve had cramping this week (my period was supposed to start) but still hasn’t.

I have started Wellbutrin xl 150 and started the 2 a day. I am late for my period which is normally pretty predictable. I honestly was freaking out until I saw this. I haven’t taken a pregnancy test yet it could be possible but I’m not to late yet.

Menstrual irregularities are listed in the detailed side effect information and many of the antidepressants tend to lengthen the menstrual cycle in women. Your period may also be slightly heavier and last a little longer than normal.

I’ve been on Wellbutrin 300 mg once a day for about a month and I’m also a solid week late on a period. I had my tubes tied several months ago so I’m not too worried about pregnancy but my cycle is always really regular so I wondered if the medication was to blame.

Literally I was freaking out thinking that maybe I was pregnant but it was literally impossible I am now almost 7 days late and I’m cramping but no blood then on Wellbutrin for almost a month now so yeah I do believe it causes your period to be late. PERIOD. 24years old/5’7/180

Can anyone say how it went for them with late periods? Mine is very late. Really swollen and bloated stomach and terrible anxiety. Have been on Wellbutrin for 1 month now.
