Weening Off Pristiq
UpdatedI was on pristiq for four years for severe anxiety and depression due to the loss of my husband. I have finally weened myself off of this drug and it wasn't so bad. I cut the pills in 1/2 and took it with breakfast for a week. I also took Natural Rhodiola supplements at the same time for any anxiety. After a week I cut down to 1/4 pill with Rhodiola and now just Rhodiola. My side affects while weening were fatigue, body aches, head aches, thirst, moodiness, dizziness, difficulty focussing and horrible dreams. I will continue on the natural path as it is much kinder on the body and it really works. Keeping active is also a must. Good luck to all of you, don't give up!

Oh yes I forgot the severe nausea! I also took Advil for headaches and body aches.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience weaning off Pristiq. I hope that you're feeling a lot better now since you stopped taking it. Natural options almost always seem to have a much gentler way of working within our bodies, so I can certainly understand where you're coming from in that regard.
I was reading up on Rhodiola out of curiosity and noticed that it's supposed to be good for combating fatigue as well. Do you have any thoughts on that aspect of it too? Keeping active is definitely a must in my book as well, but it's also nice to have the herbal option on the side, for an added boost.

Hi David, as for the fatigue I have had little energy while on Pristiq but now that I am taking Rhodiola I feel great with a ton of energy. I feel so much better. Hope this helps.
