Watson Vs. Mylan Generic Lorazepam Side Effects. (Page 27) (Top voted first)
UpdatedBeen on Sandoz mfr. lorazepam for 10 years; no problems; no need to increase dose. Sandoz stopped mfr. Now, can only get these generic's & Actavis. Having lots of troubles getting results; either nothing or zonked. Anyone else w/any experience which mfr. is closer to Sandoz (since FDA approves up to 2% differences in generics). Thank you.

I was contacting mylan and trying to find out about the manufacturer so that I might have a chance of still getting the med. I paid cash on May 22nd (4000.00) to get the brand name because I was so sick I had to get relief! I did not get an approval for the brand name until June! That was why I was asking questions and also trying to answer what others had asked about mylan and other brands. What helped and what did not. That was it.
*Update on Sandoz*
So I called Sandoz back as the last time I spoke with them they said they were still making it yet my pharmacy was unable to get it. This time they said it was indeed discontinued. And i do believe them this time as it was also taken off their website list of produced medications.
Re: Gabby (# 473)
Hello, I was reading your comment about the Benzos and how some are frowned upon. I was put on mine years ago. I did not want to be on them long term and after about a month I went off of them. Well, I had a panic attack and ended up at the ER. I was told then how I had to take my medication. I was told by many professional medical field people I would have to be on them for the rest of my life. Then as years go by you get a lot of flack about being on something that you basically have to take to feel half way normal. My Dr has never been one to put me down for taking them but the insurance company sends my dr letters at least once a year asking him if it’s necessary to be on them etc.. I feel like they are always breathing down our backs. I find it odd how an insurance company who is not a medical Dr wants to decide if I should be on them. I think a lot of times why did I continue with this med?? I have tried many other things and they did not do the work. They did not help. Yet I feel too I’m frowned upon by my insurance company for being on a medication that I was told I had to be on for the rest of my life. Then we have an incident like others on here talking about all the brands being changed, discontinued and like others almost panicked not knowing what my answer would be when I was told by cvs they would not pay for my Ativan brand Valeant. I still think mylan was the best for me. I wanted to add this on here for others to know that we were all in the same boat. The Valeant Brand Ativan gives people in medical Free meds. Government program. If medical can get it for free I’m sure Valeant would work with you to get your med if you have a brand name only RX and can’t get coverage or afford it. Let’s face it, who can afford to pay 4000 a month for a prescription??? I hope this post does not disturb you. I know you didn’t want to concentrate on me but I want everyone on here to know I went through hell on other brands. My life is not perfect... look to Valeant. They have a website and you can fill out a form for them to help you on their website. I hope this helps.
Re: Gabby (# 501)
Just wanted to see where everyone is at. I’m completely frustrated as a few months back my pharmacist told me she ordered the last “60 bottles of the .5 Mylan for me” My Doctor just called to tell me when he called in my script it came back saying they don’t have that brand and called them and they said nope they’re all out. I’m beyond frustrated and worried. What is everyone else taking/doing?!
Re: Twig7 (# 339)
It’s discontinued, we need to get over it.
CVS does not use Mylan or Ranbaxy mfr.'s for Lorazepam anymore, they have changed to QUALITEST. No good in my opinion, Ranbaxy worked well for me although the original brand Ativan by mfr. WYETH was the best.
DO NOT take extra pills just because you feel you are not getting as buzzed. It is all in our mind for the most part?
Not true. Last Saturday I just refilled 2 mg 90 count Watson. Walgreens carries Watson. I break them in half. Very effective for my anxiety.
In my experience Watson is the best generic brand.
To Doc76.
I'm not sure where you're getting your information from but I have been using the actual Ativan brand from the actual manufacturer for several years. It's made by Valeant. It's the same shape as the original it's the same quality I believe it certainly is all I can use since I have problems with every single generic I have tried except for Ranbaxy which my last understanding was they were changing an ingredient and needed FDA approval that was around 3 years ago. Nothing else works for me without bad effects. Unfortunately it means me having to spend a lot extra on my health insurance since I have to get the name brand which is extremely expensive as you all may know. My copay is $50 and requires prior authorization from my doctor. It's sad that the greedy pharmaceutical companies have to be like that but it's the only thing that helps me.
Re: Henry (# 335)
Unfortunately mylan is discontinuing their manufacturing. I have talked to them twice. They said if they have enough ingredients they will make a small amount more. I had to go on Ativan and I am fighting my insurance to pay for it! Actavis and leading brand are the only two generics they have and neither work for me at all! I tried for 14 days and it was pure hell ! Not enough active ingredients. The fillers made me ill. I do not care what anyone says generics are not all the same! The leading brand tasted just like pure sugar to me. Mylan was the only one who helped as a generic. Now they are gone!
Re: Henry (# 341)
Yes , I have called two times they are not going to carry it anymore :( . Finally got my insurance to cover the Ativan brand ! 30 dollars a month . I was on 6 a day now 5 on the Ativan brand name !
Re: Twig7 (# 339)
Okay ! We have called the headquarters and talked to the manufacturing and they said they will not carry it anymore . They will see how much ingredients they have left they will use that up and once it’s gone they said no more .
Re: Twig7 (# 390)
Why do some people have to write a long long book on these threads? It takes up too much room it's just ridiculous get to the point instead of writing a book please. You're taking up way too much room. Do you really think people are going to read your book? I don't think so.
