Watson Vs. Mylan Generic Lorazepam Side Effects. (Page 26) (Top voted first)

Updated

Been on Sandoz mfr. lorazepam for 10 years; no problems; no need to increase dose. Sandoz stopped mfr. Now, can only get these generic's & Actavis. Having lots of troubles getting results; either nothing or zonked. Anyone else w/any experience which mfr. is closer to Sandoz (since FDA approves up to 2% differences in generics). Thank you.

you really need to get a life jennifer, my comment was made to the person who commented that a person on this site was spreading lies, if that was you then my comment was directed at you, you have no business telling anyone to "go spread your lies some where else", if that wasn't your comment, and i didn't mention a name then you should mind your own business, this site can be helpful to many people but one thing that should never be tolerated is someone accusing some one of spreading lies, especially when they don't have a shread of evidence, so in closing, if you were the person who accused someone on this site of "spreading lies then maybe its you who needs to find another site that will tolerate your attitude, if you didn't accuse someone of spreading lies then again, mind your own business

I finally tried the Watson and felt gittery like it wasn't working. It also made me very thirsty and coated tongue. I stopped and went back to Sandoz and then tried it again the following day just to be sure it wasn't due to something else. Same symptoms. So had to go back to my doctor( he charged for for a visit and copay!) Getting brand name now through insurance mailorder. Very expensive! And had to go to Walgreens to get the Sandoz for a small supply until they can process my mailorder. So this has cost me a lot of extra money because they switched the brand on me!

Yes, Ranbaxy IS discontinuing Lorezapam, I called them directly, and they told me. They really helped me in many stressful situations for over 15 years. (not everyday) I'm taking Qualitest, and they are not as good. I'm trying to get the name brand Ativan, through a letter from my doctor requesting I have to take that, because of my anxiety disorder, and nothing else works. Not covered by insurance, and yes, $500.00 a bottle for 60. It's outrageous!

I was taking Ranbaxy 1mg for 2 years and I was anxiety free. Without knowing the generic was changed to Mylan I started having anxiety again. If I took more I would end up depressed. Depression is not one of my normal emotions. But I was really depressed! I don't know what to do now. Can someone please tell me if I can get Rambaxy 1 mg tables of lorazepam anywhere in Florida?

Just tell the pharmacy you want "Xanax" that's what you're taking, only they're giving you generics.!.!.!

Yes there is a huge difference in generics . I recently was given leading pharma brand . Just like a sugar pill . I went through horrible suffering . The best one I ever had was the mylan 1 mg tabs . No problems . Watson brand made me very uptight . I had to pay 3000 for an Ativan 20 day supply . I was having. Horrible anxiety on the leading brand . That’s all anyone is carrying at the pharmacies where I live and mail order . It’s so sad . My doctor wants me on the Ativan brand now . Fighting insurance to cover it . I contacted the fda over the leading brand . It’s a horrible med !

Re: Twig7 (# 328) Expand Referenced Message

Went to refill today for Mylan lorazepam. CVS told me they were told it's back ordered for three weeks (approx 6/21). They were able to give me a partial fill based on the large bottle they had ordered for me months ago.

Mylan is the only generic lorazepam that works in my 12 years experience with Ativan. For many years when my insurance covered it, my scripts were marked 'Dispense As Written' for the brand Ativan. Initially owned by Biovail then Valeant when they merged with Biovail. Valeant are the worst kind of scum and ran the pill cost up to $25 per pill (not a typo). They were hauled in front of US Congress over this and other similar practices, but nothing came of it most likely because it's a Canadian company and there is a generic available (irregardless that only one generic is any good). In January my insurance changed and I switched to the Mylan as it was the least problematic of the generics I had taken prior to the brand. There was an adjustment period for the first month where it felt like it wasn't quite as potent as the Brand, but nothing horrific like trying to take the sugar pills from Actavis. Now unfortunately there is a problem getting the Mylan lorazepam. Not sure why as they are the largest generic drug manufacturer and supposedly the largest producer of benzodiazepines. Hopefully Mylan begins to keep this stocked regularly or else I will have no choice but to talk to my doctor about switching to a different med which would be a shame as ativan works great for me.

Re: Savannah (# 336) Expand Referenced Message

I just found out from my pharmacist yesterday that Mylan is DC'ing the lorazepam. On May 3rd I emailed Mylan to ask them about the nationwide backorder. I got a call from a rep saying they would be back on the market by May 21st. Now when my refill is due I get this info from the pharmacist!! I’m soooo upset. Qualitest was the best brand until they stopped making them, and until I did research on this site I went through horrible experiences with Actavis, Sandoz, then this Leading that does taste like a cube of sugar. What can we do to get someone to listen? My blood pressure goes sky high during my panic attacks and the Mylan formula was finally getting me back to feeling somewhat normal after 2 years of playing around with this garbage?

Twig7 (# 337) --

Hey Twig7, you and I have been sticking together on our facts that Mylan just had a backorder, and like I mentioned before, Mylan did respond to me that after May 21, they would be back on the market. As of yesterday, May 31, when I called my pharmacy to refill my rx, they told me that on their ordering computer it stated Mylan is discontinuing at least the 1 mg for now. I asked if it could be a mistake as Mylan called me directly after my email. He said that’s the only computer they use to direct order so it’s up to date. After getting so upset, I sent an email back to Mylan last night and am yet to hear from them this morning. I’ll let you know as soon as I hear from them. I know we’re on the same page with this.

Re: Deedee (# 337) Expand Referenced Message

I understand exactly what you are going through! Mine was high on the leading brand and I never have high blood pressure. I was on mylan and felt so much better. I did finally get an ok for the Ativan brand name with our insurance company so I am able to get it covered. See if your dr will fill out a paper name brand Ativan only!!! I’m sorry you are suffering. If you look up Mylan Pharmaceuticals there is a global center you can call to get more info. They are the ones who told me that they were no longer going to carry it. Cvs used mylan for a long time. They tried to order it for me and told me it was discontinued also. I hope you find Something will work for you.

Twig7 (# 347) --

I’m truly telling about what I was told. I tried to get the 2mg because I was told they were in the warehouse also. I hope you get yours. I was told they had them in then when they were suppose to arrive I called back and they said they did not have them. It’s very frustrating to always. Have to try garbage that doesn’t work and mylan was the best generic I ever took. I want you to know I have only been stating what mylan manufactures in PA has told me. For now my brand name is approved until 2021.

Re: Twig7 (# 352) Expand Referenced Message

I’m not here to argue or challenge you. I am only giving out information to try and let people know what I have been told about the mylan. Each person is different and has diff anxiety levels. If you must know so much about why when and where this is not the page. My mental health has nothing to do with mylan verses Watson. Read up on dosages that will give you answers. Make sure you dig deeper and go higher up the food chain to find out exactly what a person can be on! Good day.

I had same problem with Actavis. I now have Walgreens order Greenstone brand ONLY. All Actavis/Teva meds are fillers. I reported complaint to FDA, Teva, Doctor & Walgreens. I have been on med for 20 years and all generics are 20-30% less actual drug, rest are fillers, and getting worse as competition with generics, you would be shocked. Having said that, go to Walgreens and have them special order GREENSTONE brand.
Good luck, Sunset

Re: Twig7 (# 385) Expand Referenced Message

I use what is prescribed as the brand name, "Do not substitute" on the prescription. It is exactly the way the brand always looked, doghouse shaped. On my bottle it says Valaent as the manufacturer. I pay extra for my plan which allows me to buy the brand. As I've mentioned on an earlier post, no generic worked for me except Ranbaxy which I hope soon will be available. I've been using Ativan since the 80's for panic disorder and chronic anxiety. It's all that works for me.

Re: Gabby (# 417) Expand Referenced Message

Sorry Gabby I didn’t answer this one before. I have never take Ativan before, it’s always been generic lorezepam. When I first started the Ativan on the 22nd of May, I had been in bed sick for over 14 days from the leading brand. I could not function and felt so horrible. Within about 40 mins after taking the first Ativan (Valeant) I felt so relaxed but super out of it. It was so much stronger so strong I could not drive for the first few days of taking it. I was able to cut a pill out of my daily dose because I did not need the amount I had been on even with mylan. I think the only Ativan I had been given was by injection at the hospital years ago. For everyone in here go to the Valeant website. They are in Canada. They have a form you can fill out. If your insurance will not cover it they offer to help the way the form reads. I have missed 3 calls from them so I know they were going to work with me. Since my insurance decided to put me on a diff tier I can pay my 30 dollar co pay. Then I get the brand.

Gabby (# 438) --

I am not playing any games! I’m stating the fact that I was sick in bed for weeks because they changed mylan to leading brand and I was ill from it. If I had a choice I would still take mylan so my insurance did not have to pay so much for my medication. I also have tried to answer other questions that others have asked about these companies. I was only here to help. I’m not trying to manipulate anyone! I’m sorry you took it that way. I am one person with one email.
