Watson Vs. Mylan Generic Lorazepam Side Effects. (Page 26)

Been on Sandoz mfr. lorazepam for 10 years; no problems; no need to increase dose. Sandoz stopped mfr. Now, can only get these generic's & Actavis. Having lots of troubles getting results; either nothing or zonked. Anyone else w/any experience which mfr. is closer to Sandoz (since FDA approves up to 2% differences in generics). Thank you.
In my opinion, Watson is the best if you cannot get the brand which is absolutely great. The brand is way too expensive. After taking the Sandoz one, it took me awhile to find a generic that would work.
It absolutely is better, you're right.
In my experiences,
Teva was fine, Ranbaxy is good, Watson is fine, Novartis (sandoz) was fine, and Mylan sucks. I'm getting withdrawl so I'm stopping to see my doctor today because these Mylan are not gonna work for the month.
Have been on Watson loraz (works great), no need to increase dose per 4 yrs, 1/2 to 1 mg as needed, (actually decreasing over time, yea), tried Actavis twice...made me feel really bad, sick and jacked up...uhhhh...what??? Went back to pharmacy and made them change it out. Watson...great stuff. Complain, make noise, call the company. This is rediculous.
I recently had to take a long international flight and I needed to take my ativan again for the trip and also while overseas for 3 weeks. I asked my pharmacy Rite aid to order me the generic ativan watson for me and they said no problem and since I have been off the brand ativan for 6 months the generic watson works just fine.
Watson brand seems to bring on chest pains with me/ Purepac causes vivid daily and nightly nightmares. Actavis seems to work for me and I can sleep through the night usually with no side effects. Being we have to pay out of pocket for these meds the pharmacies shouldn't be supplying us with what works for us. Some of us actually need these medicines to function and be stabilized. In most other countries, they can purchase ativan and xanax over the counter at very cheap reasonable prices. However one can purchase street drugs with no problem with connections. Go figure. Peace.
I fill my prescriptions at walgreens. When I told them the lorazepam from activis was not working, they told me thats the only brand they have and it was the same company (purepac) just a new logo. I asked if maybe another pharmacy might have a different brand. They immediately asked what brand would I prefer and said they would order for me rather than have me switch pharmacies. So, just ask walgreens!!
I understand all the frustration with the different generics for Ativan. It took me 6 months but I got off of it. I will take it occasionally if I am really having a bad time. I keep the brand Ativan on hand but actually the watson is very good.
Insurance changed, so I went to clinic for lorazepam 1 mg.
Horrible reaction, kept me up instead of helping me sleep. the manufactor is Mylan. Before I was getting them from Target (Watson Lab). Unbelievable difference in what's supposed to be the same drug.
The ranbaxy brand seems a lot better than the Mylan, whith I swithed from. They're availaible at rite aid.
I was on Ativan for 4 years. The Sandoz brand. I tried all the generics nothing worked but the brand name which was costing a fortune. I made a conscientious effort to get off the Ativan. It has been 3 months, so far so good. I cannot tell you how bad it was for me when I could no longer get the Sando brand and kept trying different generics nothing worked.
I'm using the Mylan 2 mg right now and they seem to be doing the job. Actavis is like taking nothing and Ranbaxy seems right in and out of you, I really like the Watsons overall, they seem as close to the brand as you can get. Has anyone tried the Teva or Sandozz lorazepam? How are these?
Taked to a Walgreens pharmacist today; he says they used to carry Watson lorazepam but now carry only Purepac, in every store. One purchasing manager makes the decision for the whole chain.
A Jewel-Osco pharmacist told me today that they carry only Aventis. I told her that that was just the new name for Purepac, which has been bought out by Aventis, but she just said "I have no idea.."
Why, yes, you do, because I just told you.
Purepac -- all of the expense of an anxiolytic, with none of the effects.
Is this some kind of joke?
If so, it is not one that I can afford.
I was also taking the Sando brand for years. I have tried Ranbaxy, Actavis being the worse, and recently tried Watson nothing seems to work for me but the brand which is costing me a fortune. I made a decision to try to get off of it since September. I am down to less than 1/2 of the dose I was taking. I hope I can continue and be done with it. I am fed with generic medicines, never had aproblem with any other medicine until this one with Ativan. I hope you can find something that works. As far as I am concerned the only thing close to the real Ativan was Sandoz. I will stick to the brand until I am off of it. Actavis does nothing it is the worst one of the bunch.
Yeah, Watson is good, Excellium and Mylan not bad, but Purepac just makes you feel like there is something wrong with you. That's not quite the idea...
Service at Target pharmacy was so bad I finally walked out, had been getting 2 mg lorazepam from Watson, 242/2, very good, no problems.
Walgreens carries Purepac (Actavis) and it seems like real garbage.
Gotta do something about this. Stuff costs money.
I had my Doctor switch my RX to Xanax 0.5 mg,get the generic form Alprazolam. I only have to take 1/2 tablet. It has worked excellent for relieving my anxiety.
You may want to ask your Doctor's about changing.
I have been on the Watson brand for years from a local pharmacy. Last month I just switched my lorazepam prescription to Walgreens. I was skeptical because the pills looked different but figured it was no big deal; well they were Actavis. They do NOTHING but make me very, very tired. I called Walgreens and they had me call my local pharmacy that I used to be at to obtain the mfr. So Walgreens is going to check if they can order Watson, if not I will have to transfer back to my local pharmacy. I cannot believe the differences 2 of the "same" drugs can have!!!
I'm happy for you.
Actavis worked for you not for me. I could not get any results from it. I was taking Sandoz now I am getting the brand.
