Watson Is Now Actavis Generic Percocet 5/325 What Is Up With This (Page 32)

I had been taking 5/325 generic Watson percocet for 4 years. Suddenly I get notified by Walgreens which I have insurance that there is no more Watson brand and I was given generic percocet 5/325 by Actavis. It is not the same at all. It has no pain relief for me. I used to break the watsons in half sometimes and never had a funny taste. I just broke one of the actavis white tablets in half and it immediately tasted like salt or alka seltzer? Has anyone had any issues with this drug too. Also, along with it not working right it has made my GI tract and stomach so ill feeling and cramping. This is not right how can they take away a medicine that someone has been on for 4 years without any problems and tell them to suddenly switch. Would a peson who has been on a certain heart medication for years be told to suddenly switch that he can't get that medicine anymore? I don't think so. I don't know what I am going to do but when it comes time to have my rx re-filled it will not be with Actavis and I will have to pharmacy shop I guess to see if I can find Watson. I am very depressed now and so unhappy I can't believe it.

Jennifer I am sorry if my posts sounded as if the Acativis worked for me Absolutely NOT. I have been getting my pain meds filled at Shopko who carry Malls. The last time I had my pain meds filled was a couple of weeks ago after surgery and the doc prescribed Percocet. My husband went and had them filled at Walgreens/Actavis ugh. I asked him to take them back and get them filled at Shopko but he did not want to do all that running around so I just suffered. I have read all the posts complaining about Actavis and I agree, you might as well just take tylenol, at least they do not make me sick and tired. Thanks for your input, I love this web site it proves I am not crazy with all of the people on this site have the same reaction as I.

Actavais is Horribe. I take duragesic 75mcg and oxycodone 10-325 mg and have began seeing Actavais on what used to say Watson. This does not work so back to the drawing board I go for an adequate generic.

Hello all,

Non Actavis fan. I have been here since the beg of the the thread. If you need the history, just read back thru the thread. Actavis Percocet sucks. As soon as Wlagreens screwed me for a month I left. I now go to the local hospital. They used to get Mallis which worked great for me. Good pain relief with little side effects.
They know switched to Rhodes which are ok. Two years later I am still mad at Walgreens for trying to scam me. My new pharmacist is great and rolled his eyes when I mentioned Actavis. he said he would NEVER stock that. What does that telly you? These bozo pharmacists at Walgreens will lie to your face to make money. How you doing Jennifer?

I agree Martin, I started going to Shopko who carry Mallis which seem to work better for me. Actavis sucks and so does Walgreens.

Activis sucks. We fought n fought witn our pharmacy, filed a complaint against the druggist n said is this a matter of dollars n cents. The next day the area mgr calledn said she instructed the pharmacist to order in the other. I'm not home so i forget the other brand. Hubby has small nerve fiber neuropathy. Extremely rare n
No cure. He now takes 2 15 mg of oxycodone n needs the meds to work n days it hardly works .

Honestly f*** Wallgreens, cvs is the best. Wallgreens questions every script and makes you wait for hours and always carries the s***tiest meds on every narcotic med out there. Go to cvs

I'm sorry to say this but most of you sound like total drug addicts!!! Trust me, I know! I used to be addicted to "Percocet", myself! It's really all in your heads... It is, what it is! After you take opiates for awhile they start to have a different effect on you. Sleepiness, sadness, depression & desperation! Detox yourselves and your pain will get better!

I was warned about Walgreens. And these a333, but I am in now in Fl and trying to establish with a pharmacy.....so I just got screwed out of a 28 day supply. Down here you are lucky if you aren't turned away by Walgreens...i know what to do next month...wait as i was filling with Publix they carried Alvogen they work Mallinckrodt qualitest and Endo all work for me...another nono is Mscontin by Mylan they re 4 times the size of Mallinckrodt Mscontin...If you ask a pharmacist what brand they carry especially at Walgreens you may just get turned away all together...im just hanging by a thread and strength from the creator right now...hope this helps someone

Anon, it is horrible in Michigan to try and get a pain script. Most doctors are afraid of being charged with a crime if they issue a script to a patient they have been seeing for years for chronic pain. My neurologist cut his patient load to less than half of what he was seeing. I have severe back and headache issues but he now refuses to see me because of his fear of being charged with a crime if he issues me a script I have been getting from him for several years. Where do I go now. The pain is very real but the doctors here in Michigan are not taking any new pain patients. I know the FDA is trying to stop the abuse of pain meds but when you have updated MRI's to show proof of your medical condition I do not understand why they are getting involved in OUR treatment. Also since they have made it harder for legit patients and pillbillies, the pillbillies have turned to illicit drugs and we have had numerous OD's, some resulting in death. We need to get the law changed, I don't know if they will listen to us but maybe the doctors can help us.

@Tracy yes I used the hydrocodone too the in 2012 ..it just didn't work at all. But the A333 are giving me GI pain like razor blades on my belly..just wanted to agree with u on that actually it was the 10\500 half the scrip blue half white Watson 540 not made I that strength anymore. But

@Rammstein, I left Co late 2014, had some problem finding a prescriber,but its all @ ppl you know...but in Co a thread on which a cpp started ppl opened up n shared docs info actually helping a lot of legit pain patients..and there are clinics there that do drug panels, but if u use marijuana therapy and had the license u were ok not down here in Fl, nothing near as bad as Fl...

Yes what happened in Fl was unlike a lot of places..so the Dr was rx Ing large amounts of Oxycodone 30...but Walgreens here in fl was in on the pill mills in the pharmacy side. There r pm s but once u get to the pm then onto pharmacies who r either not in stock of meds or Walgreens. Who has a checklist..which some will deny you can google Walgreens good faith filling policy..but this is putting folks in pain, withdrawal, stigma ,harassment and some to street drugs, over dosing

CVs has been of no help to me as I'm not on their system.. Walgreens pharmacist turned away 3 or 4 ppl in front of me I saw it today, turned me away too, but last week I filled 112 a333 transferred my lyrics flexerill etc , they also filled my long acting morphine last month, but turned me away today..but its probably a blessing, I received Endo mscontin it worked, but I'm going to Publix tomorrow they be always been good to me. I just can't drive so I have to wait for a ride for tomorrow...

Hi I've been reading all of ur responses I was on hydro 10mg/325. For 2yrs they stopped working my Dr then added 125microg fentanyl really not much difference I turned my new script of patches back into him so he just put me on oxy 10mg/325 an yes im taking generic actu as A333. The reason I'm even on here this morning Id I was searching to see which generic is best for perks cuz I'm not feeling that much pain relief. I'm disabled neck Id just not It's all messed up car accident like 11 yrs ago knee damage they had to take miniscus and cartridge out so bone on bone since 2010 arthritis throuout an fibro. Now 3 wks ago ER visit cuza jaw pain end up 80% blockage so I had to have stent im blessed an thankful I made it an still here Anyway back to these M&Ms I feel that I bght are really upsetting to me byes I remember Watson they were fantastic pain was gone!!! Now I'm taking 2 pills each time I need for pain insteada 1 every 4 to 6 hrs An yes stomach is a mess sick feeling im going to ask my pharm I go to walgreens also but I'm going to ask her for a different generic if they can't then im trying Riteaid or giant eagle I'll call first Im really hoping for all of us that live an suffer daily with pain that we get a stronger oxy next time I've been paying outa pocket for over a ur I finally got Medicare an pharm card today Why cnt we get roxicet ? Yes I agree as well about actavis. Thought it was just me being tolerant but agree it sucks. It seems like I need 3 times as much to amount to 1 Watson. I've complained to Walgreen's but their hands are tied supposedly.

I work in a pharmacy and the reason many are not carrying Watson brand is because it is popular on the street and many were selling their prescriptions for a lot of money. It's not fair for the legitimate patients who really need it. I plan on finding out what brand of generic Percocet my pharmacy has switched to because it's garbage. My husband and I both agree this new generic doesn't work worth a darn. I think we all need to start complaining both to our pharmacies in addition to the FDA. Patients have complained many times since we've switched to this new brand so that tells me it's not mine or my husbands imagination that it doesn't work. My prescription is for a quantity of 200 and that used to last me 4-6 months. I now go thru that in barely 2 months. So now I'm unnecessarily taking more Tylenol than I should have to. I had a really bad migraine last week and took 3 Percocet all at once to have the affect that 1 of the old brand did. I NEVER did that before because I didn't need to. 1 tablet did the job before so it's pathetic that I would now resort to taking 3 because this new brand is crap. I'm watching 20/20 right now about fake medicine being sold on the streets. I would expect this to happen on the streets but I don't expect to get fake or poor quality medication from a pharmacy. We all need to complain LOUDLY to the FDA to get rid of these cheap ineffective medications!!

@jan qualitest is pretty good. I also got stuck with a month of actavis brand!! Never again. I went to WalMart and was given the a333. Imo placebo. I've heard of zmainly Walgreens, sometimes Cvs and rite aid to carry Actavis. I go to Publix pharmacy. I now get Alvogen brand they work pretty good!! When I first got the A333 s I had read about it, but had to experience a long month of pain. I don't wish for anyone else to be stuck with that 216.00 of pure garbage.
