If u take warfarin and take alot of roxys can it raise your inr level to the piont the inr level Can be dangerous ## Hello, Brown eyes! How are you? No, Oxycodone hasn't been known to do that, though it is recommended that a patients INR always be checked within a few days of starting any new medication, since there's no way to predict exactly how anyone may react to something. The FDA classifies Oxycodone as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Warfarin may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Have they both been prescribed for you?

I have had chronic severe back pain for approximately 30 years. I have bouts where I can hardly walk, currently I am in that state right now. A friend of mine says she takes this herbal dietary supplement for her severe back and neck pain. I am wondering if I can take the same even though I am on a regimen of warfin due to having had blood clots approximately seven years ago? I also see a chiropractor approximately every two weeks faithfully. ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? No, it is not safe for you take this supplement with Warfarin. It contains plum flower and ginseng, the latter of which also causes blood thinning. The FDA lists the typical side effects of Warfarin as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and easy bruising. Is there anything else I...

This is a bit long, sorry. I know it takes awhile to get the dose right, but this seems kinda weird to me, particularly since I'm getting somewhat conflicting answers from different doctors. I know I'm not missng doses, I have a pill box I use and an alarm set to go off and remind me to take it. The doctors at the blood clinic don't seem overly concerned, but they have said that they usually get people at a theraputic level faster than I'm going. I don't really take any other meds, I had a few Norco (hydrocodone acetomenophen) prescribed by the ER for a really bad headache a few days after I got out of the hospital and very rarely will take a dose for back pain, but not very often. I've taken six doses in the past five weeks, hardly regular use, and none of them ...

My Dr. Tested me today. I have been taking coumadin for over one month @ 5mg one day, then 6 for two, and repeating. My level was 300! That seems high to me as my goal was 200. My Dr. Told me he didn't need to see me for a whole month now, and I am concerned my levels will keep going up! Any feedback? Thank you! ## Hi Zena, If I had this concern I'd probably give my doctor a call about it right away, just to be on the safe side. However for reference, I did come across an article on PubMed that may help explain what prothrombin time levels are considered to be in the normal range. And apparently if you are taking Coumadin to prevent clotting, it is likely that your doctor will want your INR levels to be somewhere between 2.0 and 3.0 (I'm thinking this translates to 200 or 30...

I have an artificial mitral heart valve. Is it safe to take DE with an artificial heart valve? Will it damage it in any way? Also, is it safe to take DE while taking Warfarin? ## Hello, Catzilla007! How are you? Diatmaceous earth is just classified as an inert supplement, so in theory, there shouldn't be any problems with your taking it, nor did I find any problems listed between it and Warfarin, which the FDA classifies as a blood thinner, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, easy bruising and increased risk of bleeding. However, since you do have an artificial valve and are on the Warfarin, you should double check with your doctor, before taking it. They are sometimes aware of problems that aren't listed in the databases, because they have learned...

My father was given this in place of Warfarin - his blood levels are critical now... WHAT IS THIS THING?! I have no current CPS, but I need to identify this tablet. Shame on the pharmacy!! ## The tablet with those markings contains 5mgs of Zopiclone, which is used for the short term treatment on insomnia. If they put this in a bottle claiming it was Warfarin, I'd be seriously taking this issue up with the pharmacy, immediately. How is he doing? ## He's ok. So far so good. His levels should be between 2 and 3... he was down at 1.1. Not a good thing... he could have stroked out for heavens sake. I recently spoke with the Pharmacist.. he feels just terrible, and is writing to Dad's specialist wrt the mixup. He told me it was zopiclone... I guess a little r&r is ok... but th...

I am interested in the Polycernol treatment mainly for the Prostate problems overnight. however I have problems with Atril Fibrillation (AF) and I am on, permanently, Warfarin, Oral Anticoagulant Therapy. Also Losarten blood pressure control tablets. Doctors are very wary of any medication not prescribed by my Medical Team. Is POLYCERNOL safe to take with my medical condition and medication I take? Assurance on compatibility would be needed for me to start. ## can I take polycernol treatment if I have AF atril fibrilation. taking oral warfarin anti coagulant and losarten for blood pressure control.

I take 4mg of Warfarin 5 days a week and 5mg of Warfarin 2 days a week. I take 10mg of Lisinopril once each day. I exercise daily and try to eat right, however I can't seem to lose any weight. Will there be any ill effects by taking lipozene along with my normal medications? Thank you in advance for your time, consideration and prompt attention I know you will give to this matter. ## Hello, Gin! How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. Lipozene is a supplement that is claimed, but not proven to aid in weight loss. It has also not been evaluated for possible interactions with prescription medications or medical conditions, so there is a chance it may contain something that could cause blood thinning or elevated blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, I...

I was on Warfarin for almost 6 months due to a DVT and stage 4 endometriosis. I have been off Warfarin for about 6 days. My leg still hurts and I am concerned that the clot may still be there. While on Warfarin I had arm and chest pain, leg pains, fatigue, etc. I just wondered if these symptoms will go away soon since I am no longer on the drug. ## Hello, Sam! How are you feeling? Have things improved, yet? Yes, they should go away, but it may take a couple weeks, before you really feel back to normal. Many people experience those issues while taking these types of medications and quite a few have had to switch to something else. As to the clot, have you had that checked out to see? Has the chest pain been checked out? Since you've had a clot, that is nothing to play around with, it...

I discovered cycling gloves are great if you bruise as i do. I wear the gloves on the wrong hands,in other words, right hand glove on left hand, and left hand on right. That puts the cushion part on the outside, and protects your hand when working, leaving fingers free.

Is there any safe diet pill to take while on warfarin. Oxy elite never had an effect on INR levels. does any one know of a thermeogenic or weight loss pill that is safe? My husband has an mechanical heart valve and is a body builder. Since oxy elite got recalled we can't seem to ind something that give that energy boost. Any help would be appreciated. ## Hello, Mags! How is he doing? Has he checked with his doctor about this? They should be able to help him find something he can use that won't cause a problem. Does it have to be a weight loss product? Why not just a nutritional supplement for energy? There are some great ones available that work very well. ## It doesn't have to be weight loss anything that would give him energy would be great. I was put on Warfarin after a stroke in 2003. I worked very hard to keep my INR just right, it takes a lot of work. Eating green leafy vegies drives the INR down, so you would have to add higher daily dosage to get it back. If it gets to high they will tell you to stop taking for a couple days. Shortly after starting to take Warfarin I noticed discoloration on lower legs (my chemical tan). Then a little over a year later I started having headaches that were not normal. The kind that if you were driving and came to an intersection, you could not turn your head without discomfort. I went in and asked if I should have a CAT scan. They said if they saw anything they would call, and I live less than a mile from hospital. When I got home they were on the phone and requesting that I come back ...

I'm 63 and was admitted 4 weeks ago to ICU in a Pretoria Hospital and for the first time was diagnosed with hi BP and irregular heart beat from 50 to 148 and a problem in the lower heart chambers. They repair a valve and Adco Bisocor 5mg was prescribe for the high BP and Arycor 200 for the irregular heart beat and Warfarin to regulate the blood thickness and Aspavor 20mg for cholesterol. From the time I was discharge upto today I haven't slept more than 2hrs at a time because of terrible muscle pains. I've just retired 3months ago and my Dr is 1250 km's away and the closest other Dr is 120km's away, is it the Adco Bisocor or Aspavor, both mention muscle pains. My pulse vary from 50 to 57. This was my first time ever in a hospital or any serious sickness. ## Hello, Ha...

Hi, My dad is having veinous thrombosis since 2005. He had a second time on last year march 2013 due to the stoppage of medicine(previously he was having epsolin) . From that time he has been using Acitrom 3mg and now its dosage been reduced to 2mg. Last month the neuro surgeon(one who stopped the medicines previously) has asked to reduce the intake to twice a week, monday and thursday. And this month he told that this medicine has to be stopped. But in the same time, since this is his second time, the neurologist has strictly told that this medicine should be eaten throughout his lifetime. Neurosurgeon is telling this medicine might become poisonous to him if eaten more than a year. Please help! ## Did you ask the neurosurgeon what he would like him to take in its place? In many cases,...

I have been on Warfarin for 5 yrs now for CHF and have a metal heart valve, my hair and skin have suffered tremendously, I started taking Biotin to help and it has helped my hair thicken back up a bit but the dryness is awful, very dry hair and my skin just peels and is very itchy, I have tried so many lotions and nothing seems to help, any suggestions? ## There are prescription creams available that work much better than those you can purchase over the counter, so you may want to speak to your physician about trying one of them. For your hair, some hot oil treatments may help moisturize it. Does anyone else have any ideas?

Can it cause seizures or what would be the point in giving to people in discuise ## Hello, dj! How are you? I'm not sure what you're talking about, it would be illegal and unethical to do that. This tablet contains 1mg of Warfarin, which is a blood thinner and no, it will not cause seizures. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and increased risk of bleeding. Are there any other questions or concerns?

My husband has been on warfarin sin june 2012 without major issues. He had stroke and a dvt that passed into his lung. Both occurred at the same time. He has totally recovered. But, ever since the middle of March 2014 he has been experiencing skin reddening. Its like he has been in the sun all day. Sometimes its splotchy sometime its just red. It does go We are wondering if it has to do with the warfarin. His inrs have been fine and the hematologist doesn't seem to think there is a problem and the dermatologist says he just has sensitive skin. The question is why would it suddenly start? Has anyone else experienced this or have any info. We are at wits end. Thanks for your time. ## Is he on any other medications, such as cardiac medications or blood pressure drugs?
