I have an artificial mitral heart valve. Is it safe to take DE with an artificial heart valve?
Will it damage it in any way? Also, is it safe to take DE while taking Warfarin?

Hello, Catzilla007! How are you?

Diatmaceous earth is just classified as an inert supplement, so in theory, there shouldn't be any problems with your taking it, nor did I find any problems listed between it and Warfarin, which the FDA classifies as a blood thinner, so it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, easy bruising and increased risk of bleeding.

However, since you do have an artificial valve and are on the Warfarin, you should double check with your doctor, before taking it. They are sometimes aware of problems that aren't listed in the databases, because they have learned through experience with other patients.

Is there anything else I can help with?
