Want To Get Off Suboxone After Taking 1/4strip For 5 Years

I got addicted to Roxy's for 2 1/2 yrs when my dad died and took suboxone to get off them. Then started feeling the urge to take Roxy's again so got back on suboxone for the 2nd time. Have been on it for a few years now because I'm afraid to take a narcotic again. I only take a quarter of a strip a day. I have to work full time so I'm afraid to stop taking them because I can't afford to lose my job. Any advice? These narcotics and suboxone really suck! I wish everyone all the best

Hello, Melissa! How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you've been dealing with.

Suboxone does also contain an opiate narcotic, it combines Buprenoprhine with Naloxone, as classified by the FDA, thus it also carries the risk of being habit forming.

A slow taper is usually the best way to stop taking such a medication.
