What Causes Weight Gain In Lyrica (Page 7)

I HAVE GAINED 27 POUNDS IN 3 MONTHS. WHAT CAN I DO OTHER THAN STOP TAKING LYRICA? SHOULD I QUIT OR LOWER THE DOSAGE? I TAKE 2 DOSES PER DAY.

As of yet, 3-14-17, there is still no generic for lyrica, it is still expensive, and the weight piles on even if some don't change their diets, or remain on a healthy low fat diet and exercise routine..my Dr told me there's not much to hold back the weight, as it's water weight really, but drink water to keep your system from holding excess water...i too have to live in pain from trigeminal neuralgia or be fat...??

I noticed you said you take Pregablin for Cauda Equiba Syndrome. How long have you been diagnosed? Because I was diagnosed in Jan and had emergency surgery. I've also been put back on Pregablin. How are you know and have you returned to work?

I have sever back pain, I have been on one Lyrica for about 14 yrs and now 2 for 2 yrs, and I have slowly gained weight, and now I need to loose about 10 lbs, how slowly do I get off Lyrica to keep from having withdrawal' or any kind of pain or nervious or what ever.... .

LORD don't I KNOW about the weight gain!! HORRIBLE!!! I have to decide on wt gain which worsens my condition or some help w pain... TERRIBLE SITUATION

Hi, I also had emergency surgery in January for Cauda Equina. I'm also Pregablin. I returned to work about a month on phased return. I've gained well over a stone in weight but I need the Pregablin for pain.

I have been taking Lyrics for nearly a month with no weight gain. I eat smaller portions than I used to I rarely snack and when I do I reach for.an apple or banana or some other.fruit. Also I eat less fried foods and chips.

I gained 45lbs in less than two years on the lyrica. I finally switched to a dr. Who acknowledges that gaining 45 lbs doesn't help fibro pain or depression. Was weened off and been totally off for a week. I've lost 7 lbs in just one month. The biggest change I made was no more constant carb snacking- I found that while on lyrica I had insatiable cravings for all carbs, constantly.

My personal advice is get off Lyrica now, as it causes more than weight gain. The drug starts off doing it's job well and then bang, things go haywire and it is caused by Lyrica.

I believe that s to be true. I'm certifiable ADHD (adult)....I had to stop taking Adderral because when I take it, even while on Lyrica my pain is really bad.....every time I stop taking the adderall the pain subsides. I started taking it again because I was gaining so much weight from the Lyrica making me so hungry all the time. But now knowing for sure from this last time that I took the Adderall It just makes my pain so much worse, I've chosen to just deal with the double whammy of having my cognitive issues from having ADHD and Fibro. The pain just isn't worth having, just so I can maintain my normal weight. It's discouraging for sure but once you're having all the pain you start realizing it's a better trade off to no longer have the pain.

I was prescribed lyrica for severe aniexty 2 weeks ago. It has saved my life I feel like a new woman and can't sing it's praises enough.

I have heard about the side effects of putting on weight and this scares the crap out of me if I'm onest. I just am not a person who can be overweight. I have not had any increased appetitie or put any weight on so far.

Would I have seen a difference in weight by now?Is the weight put on through eating, water retention, or medical bloating etc..

I've read lost of this thread, bbut nothing answers my questions!

Can anyone help pls?

Lyrica is the worst medication for Anxiety, I realise everyone is different but in the end your Anxiety will worsen on this stuff. As my comments get moderated I cannot refer you to an excellent medical certifiable page in regards to what Lyrica does to our brains and other bodily functions and what the latest findings of this poisonous drug can do to us

Been on it 2years Progablin gained 2.5 stone in weight. Is there an alternative medication for nerve blocking as damaged discs in back.

I have been under weight all my life not any more it's fluid weight horrible I have put on a stone and enormous around my waist I don't eat any thing flattering and used to model at age 60 I can't model with this weight I've been on a lot of different drugs and never put weight on

Upon reading your post I thought this is exactly how I feel. I was put on the 'evil' Lyrica as I call it for severe arthritis pain in the left shoulder and then the dose was increased to 300mg twice daily now for the past 12 months after two close bouts of shingles in the left shoulder blade which have caused bad nerve damage and still cause pain. I was not told that weight gain was a side effect and wondered why I was putting on so much weight when I have always been a small eater. I am also on Topamax amongst other drugs for migraines. As you I also now have severe pain and am also very depressed about the way I look (yes I am on anti-depressants as well) I now intend to wean myself off the Lyrica!

I heard that each 150mg Lyrica is 67 calories, if this is true you are getting 201 calories if you take 3 a day. What I found when I started was it increased my appetite. I gained weight at first, but was able to lose it. I used the MyFitnessPal App, and in the first 6 days I have lost 6 pounds by following it.

Get off Lyrica as soon as possible, it's pure poison. It has hundreds, if not more, different side effects and a lot of them are very dangerous.

Hi I put in about 7 lbs initially with Lyrica , I was anit under weight at the time so I didn't mind... now I've put on another 7 and not happy with it.

So I said to myself I'm losing 4 pounds this week.. watched what I ate, moderate sized portions and got out in nature and stomped for at least an hour every day and BAMMM it went!!!!

I think people need to be honest about what they put in their mouth and how much , and get outside , stretch those legs... IT WORKS!!!!

I stopped using lyrica 75mg, for the following reasons: weight gain, confused, sore muscles stiffness, and big problem in numbness on my feet, both checks, losing concentration. I was using for my spinal cord pain, it seems I went to new health problems.
