I am currently taking 20mgs. Suboxone daily.I came off of Methadone 170mgs daily for 4years and four 1mgs xanax four times a day.I am came off the two July 24th.I am still in severe physical pain unless I take more Suboxone than prescribed. My doctor is wanting me to come down to 16mgs.daily.i can't remember to tell him when I see him on a monthly basis because I'm without my medication and its so hard to think, when I'm in alot of pain! I feel as if I'm all banged up from a bad car wreck and I don't feel comfortable telling my doctor I'm needing more if he's wanting to decrease my dosage because I'm scared he want see me no more! Please can someone tell me what else I can do? I was wondering if a Suboxone clinic different from a doctors office? I live in Fayetteville Tn and a suboxone clinc is closer than my doctor, should I start going to the Suboxone clinic or should I stay with my doctor?

I’m surprised a regular doctor can actually prescribe this. I thought only certain doctors who took a course prescribed it. I do actually get mine from a general practitioner who is also a Suboxone doctor. All he needed was that course for insane cash. Once you are able to prescribe Suboxone at a cash price of $100-250 a month usually that’s all they need! I think a Suboxone clinic would likely prescribe you the max of 4 8 mg daily but do you really need it being on Xanax too? Later you’re going to ding yourself in a hell of a predicament when you try to get off it.
I am seeing a suboxone doctor for drug addiction! Thats why I was on Methadone was for drug addiction and I came off the methadone because during my recovery from addiction on methadone I went to the doctor was prescribed xanax and I just wasn't ready to die! and I am still in withdrawals from the methadone and its impossible for me to go back to the methadone because I was a stage 4 patient where I only had to go every week and I have no transportation no more to get the methadone. The suboxone is helping but I'm craving and hurting and I know i need to increase my dosage. I'm hoping the doctor will when I see him Friday. I called and talk to the nurse and I told her what was going on so she has got me in for this Friday. Can you please explain to me how the clinic differs from the doctor? It has crossed my mind going to pain management but I already know I will start abusing and I'm just not up for that! I do feel safe with the suboxone more than I would with anything else.I didn't know that withdrawal was so painful because I never done without.I'm going to see what the doctor says Friday and thanks for your relies! When I first started Suboxone treatment I had a difficult hard time understanding but coming off the xanax I think had a lot to do with it.
Hello, Amanda! How are you?
Yes, the Suboxone doctors are different, but they are used to treat addiction, not chronic pain.
What type of doctor are you seeing right now, is it a pain management specialist? I think that would be the best doctor for you to see to help you.
The FDA classifies this medication as a opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
