primrose oil soft gel capsules and Eveprim , Evening Primrose Oil capsules . Are these three one and the same herbal supplement? If not, what are their differences? I have been prescribed Eveprim capsules 1000 mg for my menopausal symptoms. Please help!! ## Hello, Puzzled! How are you? Yes, they are all the same thing. It works well for some women to alleviate some of the symptoms, but not everyone has good results with it. You may also want to ask your doctor about trying Black Cohosh, which is another supplement that can help. The FDA warns that they may cause nausea in some people. Is there anything else I can help with?

Please advise me as to whether Folbic is the same as Foltx. I have C.A.D. and I have been prescribed Foltx but have been given Folbic. ## Yep, they are the same thing, Foltx is just a Brand name I believe, and folbic is the generic name ## SAME THING, 2 DIFF BRANDS, FOLIC ACID 2.5MG, B6 25 MG, B12 2 MG ## It is very common for the pharmacy to give you a generic, cheaper version of the prescription unless you, or your doctor say it must be the name brand. ## TOOK METANX AFTER 3 DAYS HAD STOMACH CRAMPS DOCTOR RECOMMENDED FLOTX WENT TO PHARMACY THEY SAID I COULD TAKE B COMPLEX WITH FOLIC ACID MAYBE A GOOD IDEA?? ## Folbic and Foltx had minor differences and substituting one for the other used to be no problem. Now the new reformulated Foltx has L-methylfolate instead of folic acid. L-Methy...

Does taking LIMCEE help a cold? ## Limcee contains Ascrobic Acid, so it is a Vitamin C tablet, which has long been believed, but not proven, to lessen the duration of a cold and to help your immunity to prevent getting them. ## Vit.C is not right the answer for cold. To stop cold for good, take HUMIC ACID, 100% pure pharma grade. Also google: Research done by Dr. Richard Laub on Humic Acid: Every detail is informatory. Only problem is its availability. In case somebody gets it, please help me with its source. ## Hi. I've been using Limcee Vitamin C tablets for months now. It's affecting my skin (hands and feet), to where it feels like it is getting harder. Can I also take ditizidol Forte along with this other drug? ## What should i do my hair is hairfull they have a medicine for this. ## @Matt, Are you trying to say that your hair is falling out? RE: "my hair is hairfull". Also, is this something that's been going on for quite some time or do you think it may have been the recent result of a medication, dietary changes, or other possible factors attributing to "hair loss" (as I presume)? Please post back if you have any more information to add! @Papito, I've heard of Bosely hair products before, but wasn't aware they had a vitamin supplement until seeing your post. why nuroday is prescribed ## Nuroday contains the active ingredient Methylcobalamin, it is a form of Vitamin B12, so it is a nutritional supplement, meant to treat or prevent the problems that can be associated with a lack of this vital nutrient. Since it is a supplement and not a drug, the side effect profiles for it have not been studied, as is done for prescription medications, but some people have reported nausea, when taking it. Is it okay to cut a vitamin d pill in half if you think it's too much at once? ## Hello, Sylvia! How are you? You can cut or break any tablet that isn't time released, or doesn't instruct you not to do so on the label, unless your doctor has told you not to do so. The FDA lists the possible side effects of vitamin D as including nausea and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I went to a " natural " doctor here in the US. He gave me some natural supplements such as Vitamin Bs and Bach Flowers for my anxiety. He also gave me Victan 2mg. He said Victan is not a drug and that it comes from Valerian Root. I just researched it and its a drug. Are his statements true or should he be reported for giving me a benzo without a psychiatric license? Im really upset because the point of seeing a natural practicioner is to get natural medicine.. ## Hello, Bobby! How are you? You are correct, Victan is considered a drug by the FDA and while someone doesn't have to be a psychiatrist to prescribe it, they are supposed to have a license to practice medicine. It is also warned that it carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nau...

I banged my head on a glass door & after a few days the blood has circled my eyes & below eyebrows. I look like a pirate with a black & blue eye. I have been prescribed reparil for 5 days. How long will it take for the dark eye to get to normal and the bump to disappear from my forehead?

used for rat poisoning in humans ## It's sad to see things were to scared to test on ourselves being tested on animals; even rats. In the case of supplements or Vitamin K in this instance, you never know exactly what they do in their testing facilities to ensure it works the way they want it to work. Word of advice: Get your vitamins and minerals from whole fresh ripe raw organic fruits and vegetables, and you can be assured you are getting plenty of what you need if you incorporate this eating habit on a regular basis. You are also doing the rats (and other animals) a favor by not supporting and buying into these failed products. ## Vitamin K is an essential nutrient that is vital for calcium metabolism, blood clotting, heart health and much more. Usually the blood thinner called C...

Can the human body synthesize its own Vitamin E production or not? ## Vitamin E is an 'essential' nutrient that must be obtained in food or other outside sources such as supplements in order for the body to get it. Vitamin E is not 'made' by the body and must be obtained from food or supplements.

I currently have 50mcg tablets and I am trying to take 200mg. How many would I have to take? ## Hello, Anthony! How are you? Are you sure it's safe for you to take that much? That would be a very high dosage of B12 and too much of it can be very dangerous. Have you been shown to be low in via lab work? How much have you been instructed to take? ## Hi Anthony, I am a big proponent of Vitamin B12 at high doses, but even I don't recommend taking 200 mg per day. It's perfectly safe to take up to 5 or 10 mg per day, but to do so, you'd be better off buying capsules that contain 5 mg per tablet, because if you are trying to get those doses taking 50 mcg tablets, you'd be taking almost a whole bottle at a time! You can see my page on Vitamin B12 Dosage here.

for Vitamin D3 50000 IU can be classified as medicine or as food supplement? for all vitamins is there is concentration or limits to consider the product medicine or food supplement? ## Hi Judy, I'm not sure what your question actually is. Vitamin D is not a 'medicine', but a vitamin supplement. If you are concerned about the DOSE, that is not anything to worry about, as you would need to take HUGE amounts before you would overdose. Please see my page on Vitamin D overdose here. What you might be more interested in, is that Prescription Vitamin D is NOT the correct form of Vitamin D to be taking, however. Vitamin D3, the kind that you can get over the counter at any health food store, is the only vitamin d form that anyone should be taking.

i just found out my vit d is very low and sarted sarting it today because that what the doctor put me on. and now i think i have uti but i have not syom of you uti exp pain in the belly. what should i ## Hello, Jen! How are you? This is a very high dose off Vitamin D and it may cause some side effects, including stomach pain. So, you may not necessarily have a UTI. You should consult your doctor to be sure. Is there anything else I can help with? ## If you think that you have a urinary tract infection, then go see your doctor. But it has nothing to do with the Vitamin D. You may want to read my page on Prescription Vitamin D, however, as that is not the recommended type of Vitamin D that people should be taking.

Hi! My doctor prescribed me to take it once a week but I misread it and have been taking it daily for the past 8 days :( . I'm also breasfeeding so now very worried what to do? Does anyone know any harmful side effects of this medications on daily basis? Thanks ## I'm not an expert but I have researched Vitamin D, as I am taking 50,000 IU every 2 weeks, was every week. I feel so much better. From what I have read, it should be alright. I would definitely check with my doctor to be absolutely sure. The doctor might have your levels retested. There is a lot of information on the medical websites about prescription Vitamin D. ## Too much vitamin D may cause elevations in the level of calcium in your body, which could be dangerous, if it goes too high or if you have certain medical ...

Is it safe for me to take daily , my doctor wants me to take it for 4 months ## In my opinion 50,000 a day (from dietary supplements) is way too much. My girlfriend was diagnosed with Vitamin D deficiency also as she lives in rainy Portland, Oregon. Her doctor suggested 50,000 IU per "week" for a certain number of weeks in order to reverse her deficiency. I know everyone is different, but 50,000 a day seems like a long shot from supplements alone and should probably be tapered down to a normal dose range after the 4 month period is up so it doesn't become toxic in your system (as Vitamin D2 is synthetic). I personally take 5,000 IU of Vitamin D3 per 'day' as that is what I've read in many health magazines to be a healthy dose. If you are able to, I would strongly...

i like to know what will happen if i took the whole bottle of vitamin d2 50000 unit in 12 days instead of 12 weeks ## Mera wt abhi 50kg hai mereko kam se kam 80kg karna hai ## Hello, Susan! How are you? Please alert your doctor. Generally, it's not a serious issue, because it's been found that you can't really overdose on Vitamin D, however, it could throw off some lab tests. For instance, you may show elevated calcium levels, which can signify cancer in some people, but yours may just be due to the excess amounts of vitamin D. Your doctor may also want you to take a break from it, for awhile, and provide you with a new prescription to continue it at a later time. The FDA classifies this as a supplement and its most common side effect is constipation. Is there anything else ...

Whether or not it will help blurred vision depends on what's causing the blurry vision. Have you consult an eye doctor? The FDA lists its typical side effect as being nausea, due to its potency.
