How much are you taking, and when is the last time your levels were checked?
Vitamin D has been known to cause toxicity, if someone takes too much, or if their levels rise too high due to certain illnesses. Toxicity issues can include kidney problems, altered mental state, high blood pressure, and other problems. The edema that you're experiencing is sometimes a symptom of high blood pressure.
It can also cause interactions with some other medications, and supplements. Are you taking anything else regularly?
