Visine Lr Discontinued? (Page 32) (Top voted first)

Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

I think the reason visine is still able to produce workplace but not LR is due to import laws being different in Canada then they are here in the US. From what i can tell from the posts on this site LR is not sold in Canada. I was told by the rep at visine that they are having trouble with the importing of the active ingredient.

Hello Johnson & Johnson: You've been promising for months to resolve your distribution problem with Visine L.R. Callers can't even get through anymore to the telelphone number you've given us. When we contact you via email, you tell us to call. Why would you treat us like this? Did you know that private vendors sell Visine L.R. for up to $60 a bottle on Amazon.com and eBay?

All of this is going on because your customer service agents really don't know what's going on themselves. They are instructed to give empty promises to people who have been loyal customers of J&J for years.

Please respond to my question/concerns listed above & not send me another form email. I can't get through on the telephone lines anyway & even if I could, reps don't know anything.

I received a response from Sean's website that basically referred me to contact the FDA so that is what I am doing. I agree with you Jessie, it must be a problem with importing the active ingredient. (At least, they told me the same thing.)
I find it astonishing how some people can try to exploit people when they truly are in need. Of course, I am referring to those trying to make a profit at the expense of others. I agree with many of you, buy in Canada and avoid the extortionists.

You are so right Christina in using the word extortionist to describe these people who are charging 1000 percent markups. Anyway I am completely satisfied with the visine workplace drops. It has been over two weeks since I first started using them and I find no difference at all.

I just ordered a bottle of Visine Workplace today. I will let everyone know how it works. I have half a bottle of LR left and it's like keeping track of the Hope Diamond! I can't function without this stuff....Please J&J bring it back!

Thank you, I also use this product and have been searching all over the country, I travel for my job and and go into every pharmacy in what ever city I am in looking for it. I hope it become available soon.

I just ran out of the last bit of Visine L.R. eye drops. I alway replenish before running out but I have been unable to find it. This has been my favorite eye redness reliever for many years. I have tried other visine drops but none works as well as the Visine L.R. K-mart amd WalMart had been my main places for purchasing this product, and when I tried them they did not have it. I have never known K-mart not to have it. On one occasion, they had it 2 for $5.00. I purchased six totalled. The stuff works great. I pray it hasn't been discontinued. This stuff wipes away tired, red eyes in an instant.

Just looked on Amazon.com and someone is actually trying to sell Visine L.R. for $55.00. I will live with Red Eyes the rest of my life before I'm that desperate. Frankly, I hope when they pull it out to ship to someone, I hope they find the bottle has evaporated or someone has punctured it. Talk about greedy.

I called J & J again today - same story - the ingredient coming in by way of Belgium and clearing Customs is the reason why this has not returned to the shelves, so they say - but this CSR did say that they may discontinue...not good news at all!! Why not write letters to the CEO of J & J??

i just received my order of visine workplace yesterday....i feel like i am in heaven.....my eyes are finally white....im going to order more now that i know its the same exact thing as visine LR.

Kat, what is the expiration date on the visine workplace you purchased ? I just assume that Canada must have different customs laws on goods since workplace is still being produced and available. But who knows, I have a feeling that our beloved VLR is about to go the way of the Dodo bird.

Well my friends I think the end is near. I was very saddened to see that Canada Pharmacy has doubled the price of visine workplace to 10 dollars (US). To me that can only mean demand is far surpassing supply. Well I guess when we are all out of VLR and Workplace we can all relocate to a place in the desert that we can call Camp Redeye. Am I being a little over dramatic ?

Ok disregard my previous post. I just got off the phone with J&J. The rep told me that they just received word today that the ingredient has been released from customs and VLR should start reappearing on shelves in the next few weeks.I was told that CVS and Wallgreens would be the first to receive it. Now lets see how long it takes.

Jessie, I truly hope what the Visine rep told you is accurate! Forgive me, if I am only cautiously optimistic :(

FDA response to my inquiry was that VLR has their approval and that they had no report of a shortage of VLR! I told them I could refer them to a website where nearly 200 people across the nation cannot find it! No further response from them so far.

Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Christina, no one cam blame any of us for not being optomistic with the run around and half truths we've been told these last few months. I also hope what they told me is true but we will just have to wait and see. It is inetresting that the FDA had no knowledge of the shortage. I will be reaching out to them also.
