I've looked everywhere too no Visine LR sighting! I'm done to two drops. I just bought the Original Visine, but didn't open the box. Hoping I will find the LR. This is the only kind that works for me too.

Just found out the reason. Basically, the manufacturer had a contract to make it but the contract is up now and it won't be renewed or continued, so what ever you can find out there still is it. It's the only good drops out there. Nothing else works.

It's sold out on MedShopExpress also. I tried to ordered some, received an email stating the item is sold out

Overstockdrugstore also states product has been discontinued by manufacturer.

As with everyone else, I also state that Visine LR has been the ONLY eye drops that has ever worked for me for years. After much searching and comparing, the closest thing that works but may need to be used every 4 hours is Bausch & Lomb Advanced Eye Releif. Contains Naphazoline HCL .03%. Hope this helps.

This is absurd! I have been using this product for over six years, and yes this is the only thing that works for my eyes. After searching for hours today in local pharmacies and stores in SoCal, and also looking online for hours I have given up! I guess its time to look for a new product. I just wish that Visine and the folks at Johnson and Johnson had the balls to say that the product is no longer available and either offer a solution or something better. Or at least have the decency to pull it off their website. Such poor customer service!

Reading these posts at least makes me realize I wasn't the only one. I originally used occu-clear for many years until that went away. Luckily, there was Visine LR. Literally, like everyone else here, these are the only drops that made my eyes white. Every other drop actually made them worse - like I just got out of a pool.

I may never understand why only this oxymetazoline works, but it does... and now... nothing left on the market. Talked with the eye doctor several times. Tried all types of drops. Then, one drop of Visine LR and my eyes are clear.

The other drops for Allergies - can't think of the brand I picked up with kieferxxxx or whatever the active ingrediant does work a little. I don't look stoned in the eyes, but not nearly as good as Visine LR...

Do they make a prescription version of this or is there some safety reason for the product going away?

only thing I have found that is anywhere near as good is this NEW stuff called rohto cool and rohto ice the ice is too strong 4 me but cool is ok but takes longer to work due to the interesting sensation it causes that is supposed to help clear the eyes which it does but still I hope 4 LR to come back

my brother uses visine l r & it's also the only one that works for him. my mom called visine directly today and they stated that there was problems with the ingredients, i guess obtaining them, and that they are not discontinuing it. they just had a minor set back of some sort with the ingredients. but according to visine it should be back to stores sooner than later!!

This forum has been extremely informative. Thanks to everyone who has posted. When I couldn't find this product in the stores, I was able to find it at drugstore.com before it sold out. Like many others, this is the only redness reliever that works well for me. I've tried the others but without the active ingredient oxymetazoline hydrochloride, it just didn't work. When I discovered that Visine LR might be discontinued, I panicked. I spent countless hours online trying to locate this stuff. I was able to purchase a couple packages of Visine LR from Amazon.com at a ridiculous 400% markup but at least i have a few to get me through the next few months. I received them in the mail today. The last I checked, it was sold out on there too. Every supplier I have checked with says this product is discontinued. If you are struggling to find this product, try ebay but beware of the sellers. Check their rating first. I also found this other product (Zoamet Eye Drops) which has the same ingredients. You can google it but i'm not sure how to buy it. . If you are really in a bind, I found a Visine product sold outside of the country which contains Oxymetazolone Hydrochloride which is the same as Visine LR but marketed as something else at $7.99 for 0.5 oz. Email me and I'll give you more details for you to decide. I didn't want to post the website until I actually receive my order. Good luck.

As of writing this post there is only ONE of the 1/2 oz left in stock on Amazon.com HERE. It's ridiculously overpriced at $22.99, but hopefully it will help somebody out...

Mike - can you reply with the name of the foreign medication and/or a link with more info to where it was obtained from?

Check around for Visine Workplace Eye Drops [1] or Claritin Eye Allergy Relief [2] from Canada - they are supposed to have the same active ingredient and is listed on the Health Canada web site. I myself haven't been able to find any yet but if anyone else has luck please let me know!

"Each mL contains oxymetazoline HCl USP, 0.25 mg (0.025%) in a clear, sterile isotonic, buffered aqueous solution. Nonmedicinal ingredients: benzalkonium chloride, boric acid, disodium edetate, purified distilled water and sodium chloride. The pH is adjusted to approximately 6.4 with sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid."

I work at a Wal Mart pharmacy and the product has not been discontinued on our system just no shipping activity at all. I was forced to buy Bausch and Lomb Redness Relief and people it works just as good, I was skeptical but it really does work and for at least 6 hours too.

I found this website way too late! I have been searching for these beloved drops in Ohio for months, and simply thought my drug store ran out. Then I noticed that all stores were out! You don't know how I felt when the last drop was squeezed out of that bottle a week ago. I tried regular Visine....yeah works about as good as tap water.. People don't understand why I'm so upset about this, until I ask them what the one product is that they can't live w o....everyone has one, and this was it for me!! All websites are now out.

OcuClear was the superior product by far. It was a sad day for the consumer when Visine took over the market. It does not work nearly as well as OcuClear. Surely this was a business decision. I would have paid any reasonable price for OcuClear. This is a life lesson for me. Visine BAD.
