Visine Lr Discontinued? (Page 15)

Having problems finding this product. Has it been discontinued and if so, do you know why?

I developed an eye disease in 1987 that makes the oil in my eyes acidic, so it burns my eyes. Visine L.R. is the only product that works for me and believe me I tried everything to get rid of the redness and burning that was driving me crazy. I used to use Ocuclear until that vanished off the shelves over a decade ago, then I switched to Visine L.R. They have the same ingredient (Oxymetazoline) and that's the only thing that works for me. I have been panicking the last few months because Visine L.R. has now vanished off the shelves of every store I check. Luckily it is still on Visine's web site as a product they make and you can also buy it online at places like drugstore.com. If this stuff ever goes away I am in big trouble.

I have been using eye drops for possibly close to 30 years. Ocu Clear and Visine LR are the only eye drops I ever used. I never ever noticed floaters until I started getting older. I'm in my late forties. For years I heard that eye drops were bad, etc, but I still have my eyesight and I've used eye drops daily because I wear makeup (worn it since I was 11 years old) and eye makeup and mascara would make my eyes red. I think floaters are just a normal part of life for most people... part of the aging process. So many things in our bodies begin to change as we age. I don't plan to stop using eye drops. I can't walk around with bloodshot eyes.

I'm from Idaho and live about 85 miles north of Boise. We have been able to locate it at a Walgreens there. I was there this past Monday and bought the only two bottles on the shelf. I went back Wednesday and checked and there were two more bottles on the shelf. We also ordered some from drugstore.com. Next time I'm in Boise (next week) if anyone needs some, I can stock up and send them to you. Please let me know on this forum.

Hello Visine LR fans... long time no type... Visine LR was in wide-abundance everywhere (although places are charging more for it!)... I recently landed several coupons for this stuff from ebay; so I went on the quest to find them at the cheaper places and stock up ... but to my dismay, I'm finding a shortage again... I hope this is just temporary. I have 10 bottles in my stock pile. I NEVER want to be without this stuff ever again... but still!!

Yes, I know. I have one bottle left. It has to last the rest of my life. why is it discontinued. it was awesome.

Yes, Traci. I don't understand it. When I called Johnson and Johnson, all they
said was that it was discontinued and thanked me for the interest in their product!

I do know it's the one ingredient - Oxymetazoline HCI 0.025% that iwhat makes it awesome. It really doesn't have to be VISINE. As long as I can find a replacement that has it, I'll be ok. No can understand how much of a life crisis this is!!! I did order some off Amazon - but they sent the original. I was beyond pissed. (and they still haven't refunded me, but that's another story!) If I do find something -- I will let you know. Please do the same for me! I'm actually going to Canada tomorrow for work, I wonder if they still have it. I will check! :)

I can't find any eye drops with that main ingredient. I am with you, it doesn't have
to be Visine. I know we are not alone. I don't know why they would discontinued it.

does anyone know the equivalent of Visine LR with the Oxymetazoline HCL 0.025% in it? I can't find it anywhere. that is the only one that works for me. otherwise my eyes are bloodshot.

Thanks Traci for letting me know. I haven't found any other eyedrops with ozymetazoline as their main ingredient. I think that is our only hope as Visine LR according to Johnson and Johnson is being discontinued.

These are the only drops that work for many people. The problem is I do not need my eyes moisturized, I just need the red out. All the others focus on moisturization, but it ends up making my eyes look worse. I do not get the shortage problem with these drops. If I ever find any Oxy drops, I will post them here.... We all need help on this...

I tried ordering from every online store I could think of, but the world seems to be out of Visine LR. Then I discovered somebody on eBay who has some. It's pricey - l paid over $90 for 3 bottles- but nothing else works for me either. Why in the world would J&J discontinue such a great product?!!

I do not know. I have already sent an email to Johnson and Johnson asking
them to bring the product back. Maybe we can all send emails to the company or start some kind of petition? What do you guys think? I know we cannot be the only ones that specifically need Visine LR.

I wish another company like Clear Eyes would decide to make drops with oxymetazoline in them. Don't these people realize they could corner the market on these & make money? The reason why the L.R. is so expensive on ebay is because they know it has been discontinued so they are going to rake you over the coals for it! Again, if anyone finds a suitable replacement, please post them here. Hopefully this will end sooner than later....
