Viibryd Withdrawal Nightmare

Pychiastrist put me on this "great new drug" when I was going through a rough patch. Had been on Paxil for 6 years. Took 6 months to get off that drug. Fast forward 4 years on Viibryd and it's simply not working. Began weaning off, first round did the tapering down 40-20-10 in one week intervals. What a nightmare each time I went one level down I thought I was dying. The headaches, brain zaps, itching, fatigue, everything. Got down to 10 stopped taking it... After four days I was down for the count, I was sure I had lost my mind. Couldn't get up, just getting a glass of water was a big deal. Doctor put me back on the 10 mg and trying a different way to taper down, now it's one every other day, then one every 3 days. Needless to say, the brain zaps a gone, but the itching, the major depression, the brain fog, the anxiety attacks are on at full force. I cry everyday about anything. I have lost 10 pounds in less than a month due to the constant nausea. I feel like I'm never going to get out of this mess. I think about killing myself everyday because the pain is just too much. Nothing makes me happy I'm sad 24/7 or on the verge of tears. I make it to work but nothing gets done.

I am very sorry about what you're going through, that's terrible.

However, the good news is that these withdrawal effects will eventually stop, it just takes some time. Everything you've experienced are listed by the FDA as being very common, when you stop taking such a medication.

You may also want to speak to your doctor about something you can take temporarily to help lessen the severity of them.

Are you switching to something else?
