What if any side effects are people experiencing on viibryd

I was so stupid, I kept. feeling stiffness throughout my entire body and I got to the point where my legs were in so much pain that while walking my dogs I fell. I am normally a fast and strong person. I quit Viibryd immediately after ignoring the symptoms become worse over 5.5 months. The pain started going away soon after I stopped Viibryd which incidently I quick right away, no weaning off. Curing depression should not cripple you physically or mentally.

So glad to hear someone else said that they are having all the pain. I cannot walk on my feet. Have missed alot of work and loosing money not working. My doctor told me this cannot be a side effect I hurt everywhere. Glad I seen your post!

I am having terrible muscle and tendon soreness.My doc told me it wasn"t from the medicine. Well it is getting worse. I am on Lortab for pain now. I am stopping the viibryd!

I also had brain zaps on viibryd, among all the other lovely side effects. I agree that this is a dangerous drug that needs more testing. That is why I'm slowly weaning off completely.

Jane we call those Brain Zaps and I was getting them frequently and so strong I thought it would short circuit my brain and kill me. After I stopped taking Viibryd the brain zaps continued for nearly 3 weeks but did diminish in how strong they were, I to found it extremely scary. I consider Viibryd an extremely dangerous drug. I was on it for 5.5 months at 40mg and had to stop it over night without weaning off because I thought I was going to die. And I am not exaggerating.

I felt great when I began Viibyrd. My doctor switched me from Effexor to Viibyrd. I felt great whie atking the starter pack of 10 mg to 20 mg. Within 2 days of beginning the 40mg I started noticing changes within my personality. I become very anxious like I was crawling out of my skin and I experienced extreme hostility. I have never experienced such feelings on Effexor. In addition, when I would fall asleep I would see white sparks in my head, very scary. I see my doctor this week and want to discontinue Viibyrd. First let me tell you that I am an RN and had been on Pristiq for over a year. I seemed to be doing pretty well but I asked my doctor if there was anything new that might be better. He gave me the Viibryd starter pack with no instructions or discussion. So I thoroughly studied the package insert. Of course the company isn't going to stress side effects-they want to sell their drug.
After one dose I developed nausea, bloating and diarrhea . I was determined to stick it out until the initial side effects subsided but stopped after five doses. At that time I had

1 severe nausea
2 continuous diarrhea with severe bloating and tenderness
3 extreme insomnia with racing thoughts and headache
4 no nightmares but a very scary vibrating feeling inside my head and eyes along with uncontrolled crying

I am just astounded that the FDA approved this drug. Are they faking clinical trial results. I've been off of it for five days and still have nausea, diarrhea , insomnia and crying over nothing. These are like side effects on steroids.

I was on viibryd for app 4-5 months. Ihad such a problem not being able to leave the house for fear of going in my pants. I tried immodium, lots of it, someone suggested sm amnts of fiber. It helped believe it or
not.
I started having trouble with weird episodes in my head. I was checked for mini strokes. Then after reading foundthey were brain zaps. I got off it immediatly. I also had a fall back of buporion. I upped it and let the doc know.
I really have to admit...it did give me a sense of wellbeing. Wish I had that now. Everyonr's different. I also had knee aches that got worse as I'm used to some of that. Best wishes with viibryd.

Sorry to hear that. Im also experiencing lots of joint and muscle pain. I'm hoping that if I reduce my dosage over a 3 month period I won't have too many lingering side effects. I'm really not very optimistic about that outcome but only time will tell.

I was on viibryd for 5.5 months and had to get off it in an emergency type way it made me so ill that I could barely walk, I was being a trooper with the side effects but by the 5.5 month 40mg it was doing serious damage. It has been nearly two months since I stopped and I still receive an occasional brain shock.

Hi, I've been on Viibryd for 5 months now and slowly weaning myself off with my docs blessing. I'm sorry to say this drug really sucks for me. I've posted my side effects before and nothing's really changed maybe just a bit worse. Good luck to all who remain on it but my gut feeling is telling me this stuff is bad news.

I had diarrhea for about 2 weeks. It went away after I got adjusted. I get really quick dizzy spells sometimes . When I do have dreams they are very very strange and I feel like I can't wake up. I have a bad taste in my mouth and my tongue hurts so bad. Does anybody itch like crazy??? My mood is better though. Lol

I had a similar experience moving from 10 to 20 mg (but not to 40 mg; go figure). After a few days on 20 mg of Viibryd, I dropped back down to 10 mg by cutting the larger does in half for a week and then tried again. It worked for me. Maybe it was just the extra time my body needed to adjust.
The most severe diarrhea I experienced was reasonably controlled by a combination of Immodium and Pepto-Bismol. The P-B was mainly for the upset stomach feeling. Ultimately, Prilosec OTC ended up being best for that issue - which kind of surprised me. I still have to use the Immodium sometimes, but it always seems to do the job. It's a bit of a tradeoff in my eyes: My stomach gets upset... but I'm actually happy to be alive.

That's what kept happening to me. Every day to every 2 days. My doc said viibryd creates seratonin in the gut. When there is an abuntence it rushes out. More like gushes out if u ask me. 2 ft away from the pot and couldn't make it. Some do well with imodium or the like.I tried a small dose of fiber. It helped. I am now off viibryd. Actually nice not toworry about the D word. Also look up brain zaps I didn't know what they were and thought it could be mini strokes. Only started while on viibryd. I need to try something diff. Read some back posts of Mario good infoYZ

ive been on 40mg for 4 days now and im having stomach problems now...i had terrible gas and my stomach is constantly rolling...i just had basically water coming out...oh it so gross...will this get better?

I had to stop Viibryd immediately after using it for 5.5 months as it was virtually paralyzing me. I stop it immediately s I felt it was about to kill me. The purpose of this post is to state that after 10 full days not on Viibryd I am still experiencing the Brain Zaps which seem to happen when I become very tired, my legs still hurt but not to the point that I am limping. I am surprised that it has taken this long for it to come out of my system. I must admit Viibryd did help my depression but in the long term 5.5 months it was breaking down my entire body which obviously is a wake up call to stop it before something goes severly wrong and is not reversible.

I have also put on alot of weight when I was on cymbalta and also from viibryd. Not happy with that, but I believe it comes with territory. I'll be going to the doc at the end of the month I really would like switch, we'll see.

Yes!!! I,ve been steadily putting on weight ever since I started taking Viibryd. Not happy! Going to try Wellbutrin.

My BP has fluctuates slightly higher sometimes, too, since being on the Viibryd. But I can usually link the periods of elevation to when my energy spikes. It's one of those good news / bad news things.

Regarding the "munchies", that was a substantial issue for me during the first 4-6 weeks, but it went away. My appetite and weight are all normal. There's definitely an adjustment period to this medication, and for a lot of people, it never does work out. For me, it's been life-changing... and I'm very, very hopeful it will last. Best of luck to everyone as you all grapple with depression. It's such a curse for us.

My BP shot up in the beginning but is good now. I'm still having the ear ringing. My PCP had no idea about the side effects except GI. GI has subsided. Had early morning awakening for about a week in the beginning. I yawn a lot in the afternoon. At 40mg for about 3 months now.
