What if any side effects are people experiencing on viibryd

I agree you never know what to expect on this med. I take each day as it comes. There's not a day that goes by that I don't experience some strange effect. I'm not sure what to do at this point.

I hate to say this, but I would seriously consider a new doctor. A 19-year-old with depression whose doctor isn't listening? I've had depression since I was 14 and didn't seek help until well into my 30's. I love my doctor, and she really "gets" me. Your doctor is probably a good fit for some, but you might need to find someone who connects better with you. Please don't get discouraged. Keep trying and working. Everything you do now is going to mean you're going to have such a happy life because you've done all of this when you're young.

Important:

As I mentioned I stopped Viibryd immediately as an emergency to what I felt was immenent death. The main side effect that I experienced stopping immediately was that my energy level hit the floor. I was drained and had to sleep 3.5 days on and off of course. Today day 5 I have normal energy back and will probably feel even better in 10 days. If and when my depression comes back I will deal with it then. At the moment I am off all anti-depression medication. I feel detoxification to such a dangerous drug is immperative.

Hannah read all my posts from the begining of this thread. I sounded like you regarding Viibryd and that has since changed. Read the entire thread, it is worth reading.

I had to stop Viibryd immediately after using it for 5.5 months as it was virtually paralyzing me. I stop it immediately s I felt it was about to kill me. The purpose of this post is to state that after 10 full days not on Viibryd I am still experiencing the Brain Zaps which seem to happen when I become very tired, my legs still hurt but not to the point that I am limping. I am surprised that it has taken this long for it to come out of my system. I must admit Viibryd did help my depression but in the long term 5.5 months it was breaking down my entire body which obviously is a wake up call to stop it before something goes severly wrong and is not reversible.

I felt great when I began Viibyrd. My doctor switched me from Effexor to Viibyrd. I felt great whie atking the starter pack of 10 mg to 20 mg. Within 2 days of beginning the 40mg I started noticing changes within my personality. I become very anxious like I was crawling out of my skin and I experienced extreme hostility. I have never experienced such feelings on Effexor. In addition, when I would fall asleep I would see white sparks in my head, very scary. I see my doctor this week and want to discontinue Viibyrd. Best of luck to those for who it is working.

I am having terrible muscle and tendon soreness.My doc told me it wasn"t from the medicine. Well it is getting worse. I am on Lortab for pain now. I am stopping the viibryd!

So glad to hear someone else said that they are having all the pain. I cannot walk on my feet. Have missed alot of work and loosing money not working. My doctor told me this cannot be a side effect I hurt everywhere. Glad I seen your post!

I only took it for 3 1/2 months and that is when it is to late and the side effects are terrible. Please stop taking this medicine. It is not good for you.

I've been on Viibryd a month and my joints ache bad. I thought it was statins, but I stopped them with no let up on joint pain. When you quit Viibryd did the dr, acknowledge that was the culprit of your pain? Thanks

No the doctor does not agree, but I got this pain after I started it. Then I read this web site and found other people were having the same type of symptoms. So, I am not sure that it is viibryd , but it seems like I am hearing the same symptoms that I am having. They want to run test to see if I have lupus or Rheumatoid arthritis but gonna wait it out. The time line just make me point it at Viibryd.

Not off viibryd yet, I'm down to 10 mg. slowly going off. The pains in my joints have decreased significantly. Only time will tell when I'm off completely.

I took vii today at 8 can't stop going to the bathroom!!! Day 1 I think I will stick to self medication (meth) believe it or not it works better then any drug the doc has given me.

Actually I was on meth for years with out any side affects and still have my teeth, when I stopped it was very easy and it was not till my fiancé died that the depression came back, but to do the right thing I went to the dr. And yea the drugs they give are by far worse then the meth

My wife tried Viibryd after the cost of Cymbalta became a concern. She was only on Viibryd for a week an started to experience some mild joint and mucle pain from her left sholder to her finger tips. Later as the symptoms worsened in her left arm to the point of causing sleep issues, pain now started to present in her left leg. It got to the degree of sorness, like severe sorness from extreme exersise. At this point it was only about 2 weeks on Viibryd and we decided that she had to stop. Within 10 days all her pain in her left arm was gone, but the pain in her left leg is still there. Its been so bad that her ability to walk has been compromized, she can barely drive her car because it hurts to use the clutch in her toyota. She now has to to go to the doctor to see what our options are for her leg pain. She has to take a trip away from home next week, and we had to get a rental car with an auto because her symtoms in her left leg make it so sore and stiff. We are also getting her a cane to help her walk, because her right hip is getting sore from trying to compensate for her left leg. My wife has had depression for 15 years and she has tried quite a few different drugs over the years, Viibryd by far has had the worst side effects in such a short period of time.

I am glad love your Viibryd and it was worth the side effects. It was 6 months of hell for me, now i am completely free of it. I still have lingering joint pain, mild brain zaps, stomach issues just to name a few but I feel that the side effects are slowly diminishing. I'm only off Viibryd completely for about a week. Good Luck.

I'm with you! This drug made me want to kill myself and also gave me terrible pains, some which still stay with me, almost a year later. After yelling at my psych for giving me this poison, he dropped me as a patient and I had to figure out a way to wean myself off this horrific drug. It was a nightmare and this drug should be taken off the market altogether!!!!

I have been off Viibryd for about 3 months after being on it for about 5 months at 40mg. I still suffer from joint pain, tendon pain in my right lower leg and hips. I never had these problems prior to Viibryd. I was getting very severe brain zaps and stopped Viibryd abruptly when I was losing my ability to walk and climb stairs, additionally I am having issues now with my cervical, lumbar and sacral spine. At times I can not straighten up and cannot keep up with my job demands. I use a stool at work many times to move around a clinic floor as I work as a nurse. I am only 46 years old and did not have these problems physically before. Right now it seems like I may have permanent damage. Someone made a comment that this drug can work for some people and not others. I felt it was working for me and ignored the side effects hoping to adjust and may have gotten off Viibryd after permanent damage may have been caused. Posting is to make people aware that there is danger involved, side effects happen to some people and in mild forms with Viibryd side effects are severe and seem to be affecting large amounts of Viibryd users. I still hope that my physical symptoms improve and cannot believe that I am still having issues that I never had before after being off Viibryd for 3 months.

I'm starting to think there is trouble with this med as well. I gradually decreased mine from 40 down to 10. Even with 10 I had lower extremity muscle soreness and delayed orgasm. It is sold as less sexual side effects and less cahnce of weight gain. I also developed Tinnitus whic has not improved at all. I stopped it all together and started 50mg Zoloft. Why I didn't try this one before?! Let me recommend. Like you, I have some situational issues. And with 50mg I have had no sexual side effects or weight gain.

My doctor still does not believe me. I am on medicine now
for Rheumatoid Arthritis . I am not sure if I should be on it. My test were negative for RA but now I have all the symptoms. I still think it is the Viibryd. Been off it for a few months . I have said it before do not take this medicine!
