Thanks for your reply! I know just what you mean about cravings- I have them always anyway, so meds that enhance that are not good for me!

How long have you been on the Viibryd? When did you start to notice a change? It's so great to hear that it is helping someone!!

Greetings!
I have been on Viibryd nowfor over 2 months, on the 40 max for over 1 month. In the last few weeks my hair started to fall out. I thought at 1st I was just losing normal amounts, until I was blow drying my hair upside down and found a PILE of hair on my bathrooom floor disconnected from the root. I cant figure out if its from the med, as I am on nothing else except Xanax, and have never had this reaction from any SSRI. I performed a conditioning treatment and it stopped for now, but if the hair loss continues, Im gonna have to say bye to this med. Its a shame if it is the med, as it is working very well for me.

I have been on viibryd for 5 months and while u are on it it works great had trouble sleeping first two weeks but after that it was fine. I had to stop taking it cause I don't have insurance. Today is the second day. I can't stay awake, I'm rally dizzy, my heart feels like its skipping beats, I hve the nervous shakes and I cant eat without vomiting. So make sure you will be able to pay for it before you start it. I can't get any help getting my meds cause most doctors and hospitals say they haven't heard of viibryd and won't help me get it. And I can't take any of the other meds out there so I'm just screwed.

Hello, I've been on Vii for 2 months, coming from Lexapro which I used for 4y but stop working and was giving me shortness of breath that turned in panic attacks, Vii was giving me very bad GI gas bloating, but sex libido came back like crazy and plenty of energy (Im 40y woman) and I thought lexapro was awesome yeah if you want to spend your time in bed... sleeping

Anyway after taking the prilosec 2 days and having gross nausea and feeling so bad and really believing I was suffering of acid reflux I stop and the gas went away (he gave me the prilose cuz I got sick with cough and a cold for 2 weeks then again with bad cough for another week) the diarrhea also went away but now my periods come earlier and I can't take Advil with Vii, this month I got ovarian cyst pain in the middle of the month which made me think cuz I had that problem 2 years ago and I control it with diet and I haven't change anything and this time that my period came it started less heavier and I thought well maybe Vii is helping, but at the fourth day when it was supposed to end I woke up with a sharp and very bad pain on the ovary and I started a fever and shaking shivering, it was awful, I spend all day with fever but it stop at 7 after my last fever-tylenol, next day I was still a little lightheaded, that was Thu, today Sun I still have a little of discomfort but my period ended and I started googling and came to a forum about PTLS (Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome)

I've been suffering from depression and anxiety after my 2nd baby AND after a Tubal Ligation and then all the hormones, cysts problems and now I can relate those problems to my anxiety

The end of this is that Fri and Sat I have felt very sad, I could cry all day if I let myself (just from reading something sweet or even a cute tv commercial!) bad mood and Im afraid that was the end of Vii for me ( I was on 20mg as I couldn't stand the 40mg) I was liking the Vii cuz I was feeling very energetic, awesome mood and libido was great! Even when I had a cold a month ago I was like la la la happy and I didn't care, I was like lets get busy, but now I feel kinda depresed and very worried, I dread for my future and my mood is not so good and last night I had anxiety I had to take .5 xanax to calm down and to sleep (I usually just take .25 sometimes to sleep)

So my question here for the ladies, anyone with a Tubal Ligation?

Good luck to everyone with the Vii, it was nice, about the libido and energy, while it lasted, I'm gonna give it one more chance today, Tue we are driving to visit my Mother in Law, its a long trip so maybe that can help a little while I go to the doc next week, ah also my Doc is not a good one, he's the 5min- give another Rx bye bye type, so I gotta find another (We've been moving, so difficult to find a good Doc these days)

Hi!
Maybe you already have read my account of the incredible hair loss that I have had since taking Viibryd.
People on here don't want to believe it, but I would bet
that it they continue on it, they too will see the piles of
hair in the sink (coming out at the root).
Viibryd is THE ONLY thing that could be causing this to
happen to me. Today was the 1st day that I did not take
any----I have taken myself off over the course of 16 days. My hair has thinned out horribly. I can only hope
that it will recover.

Yes, I take Wellbutrin 150 XR and 40 mg Viibryd in the am. Except for not being covered by insurance, and worse, severe hair loss, I'd be a very happy camper. Is the hair loss temporary? Is the company admitting to it yet? Does anyone know HOW it causes hair loss?

BE GLAD---BE VERY GLAD THAT YOUR INSURANCE WON'T COVER VIIBRYD. MINE WON'T EITHER.
I WOULDN'T TAKE IT EVEN IF THEY DID COVER IT B/C OF DYSTONIA AND PAIN AND ALL OF THIS HAIR
LOSS. I HAVEN'T SAID MUCH ABOUT THE PAIN AND
STIFFNESS AND RIGIDITY. BY DAY 60 ON 30MG/DAY, I WAS SO STIFF, SORE AND PAINFUL THAT I COULD HARDLY MOVE MY SPINE AND NECK.
THAT AND THE NASTY HAIR LOSS CAUSED ME TO QUIT VIIBRYD. FOREST PHARM SHOULD REALLY HAVE TO PUT THAT IN THE SIDE EFFECTS LIST---BUT UNLESS ENOUGH PEOPLE ACTUALLY REPORT IT TO THEM......THEY DON'T HAVE TO.
IF THIS STUFF STAYS ON THE MKT......THERE WILL BE MORE AND MORE BALD PEOPLE WALKING AROUND. STIFF BALD PEOPLE. STIFF, BALD AND MANIC PEOPLE. AS YOU CAN TELL, I'M MAD AS ****
ABOUT WHAT THIS CRAP DID TO ME.
I HOPE YOUR HAIR LOSS STOPS, BUT IT'S BEEN 13 WEEKS SINCE I TOOK THE 1ST PILL AND HAIR IS STILL RAINING DOWN.

I have been on the new starter pack since mid November. I have been nervous to start on the 40 mg dosage and just took my first 40 mg today. My biggest problem has been worrying about hair loss. So far I have not noticed anything. How long did those of you with hair loss go before you started noticing? Was it at the 10, 20, 40mg mark? I am not even sure this drug is working for me to tell you the truth. I do notice I am irritable and agitated a lot. But I have always really been that way, thanks to GAD and depression. My anxiety is still at a constant high and I sometimes take up to 3 mg xanax a day, sometimes 1 mg 3 times a day, sometimes 1.5 two times a day. I just don't know what to do anymore. I have seen therapists, psychiatrists, fam practice docs. Have been on Lexapro, Prozac, Cymbalta, Wellbutrin, Paxil, Pristiq, who knows what else. I can't find anything to make me feel better. I am starting to think that I am just a lost cause and maybe this is just how I really am, and no medicine can change it. I want to feel happy with my life, as I know logically that I have a lot to be grateful for and a lot to enjoy. But I wish that someone could make me understand how to live that logic.

I went from wellbutrin xl 300 to viibryd 5 to 10 to 20. Told Dr. "not sure if under-medicated,over-medicated-or wrongly medicated". I believe u may b overmedicated. I've gone on for over 2 months unmotivated & "numb" on 20 mg viibryd. Yest & today I decreased to 10 mg viibryd. Today I also added 150 mg of wellbutrin xl. (big diff today). Took Lexapro before Wellbutrin w/o neg effects. I don't think Viibryd is good.(never good to feel like u do). This is my 1st post ever.

I'm feeling fantastic on my 10mg dose of Viibryd lifted me out of the dark depression instantly..its giving me level mood a sense of hope and allot more interest in the simple things of life. I have no doom and gloom anymore... freak-in fantastic leveled energy..no crazy side effects a matter of fact it has completely removed my sore joints. this sound crazy but im even starting to look better..less lines in my face and an overall look of well being...Thank God! My father died and I have felt so down for more then a year. I had a ton of anger and big mood swings for the simplest things...Not anymore.

Just to know there is a postivie note for some people. If you have read through the thread, this has been an amazing drug for me. Sorry some are having a hard time, all drugs are different for everyone. If you read something on here, don't let it effect your mind. Be your own judge of the drug for you. The gaining weight part is partially because of different cravings and you have to be able not to give in. I have gained a couple of pounds...don't weigh but I can tell in my clothes....but I also haven't been walking everyday and on weekends either!! But, the best side effect is being able to drive where I want to..yay!! I do take Wellbutrin, and xanyx also. I also take an assortment of vitamins including krill oil, primrose oil, dandelion, b12 complex with c, lipotropics, and vit d.

I wish all of you good luck in finding what is best for you!!

I started taking Viibryd 3 months ago and my energy level has increased significantly. I did put on weight but I am not blaming the medication for the weight gain for one reason - my appetite did increase but instead of eating healthy and working out, I started eating junk food late at night. The pill itself does not make you gain weight, it increases you appetite so be prepared to snack on veggies and fruit. I am going on two weeks with no junk food in my house and when I get the muchies at night, I drink a protein shake or something with high protein like almonds. Keep the junk food out of your home AND try to get 30min workouts 3x a week and you will be fine.

My psychiatrist prescribed Viibryd in October. She gave me the starter pack and instructed me to take half a pill. I still experienced bouts of diarrhea, insomnia, and anxiety with the half dosage. The first two weeks I could do nothing but lie in bed. I had suicidal thoughts and I had terrible crying spells. I continued to take it because my doctor said it takes over two weeks before you notice improvement. By the end of the third week my depression did improve but I still had nausea, diarrhea and insomnia. Well I made it to 20 mg and my psychiatrist and I felt that I was doing better. I was able to go to work and actually function. Less crying spells. I am gaining weight but I only eat once or twice a day because I'm never hungry. I probably have gained about 15lbs. I also noticed that I had extreme pain on the right side of my back that got gradually worse since October. I never connected this with using Viibryd. I am having recurrent urinary tract infections with chronic back pain. I have severe pain in my right foot. I have had Cat scans, MRI's and a bone scan all negative. I'm like what the hell is going on. Never thinking it's the Viibryd. Now I am having abnormal vaginal bleeding with clotting. My GYN refers me to a hematologist who ran all these different blood tests. Of course they are all negative but the Hematologists states that medications like Viibryd cause abnormal bleeding. At this point I am breaking down the chronic joint pain, the lack of sleep, the UTI's, THE PAIN OMG!!! It's so severe but it comes in episodes. It is debilitating. Pain meds do not even subdue this chronic pain. After reading this forum I attribute all of my problems to using Viibryd. I suspected but I am 100percent sure that Viibryd will kill me unless I stop taking it. I am going cold turkey. Surely the effects of not taking this drug is less than the effects of taking this drug. This has been a nightmare!

Wow, those ARE debilitating side effects. It definitely sucks that you cannot take it.
**However**, from reading this board and what I know personally of SSRIs for 19 years, going off "cold turkey" can cause even WORSE problems! I hope you will reconsider and talk with your doctor about how to come off them properly....

OMG, Margay, I came off Eff XR and got on Vii, too!

And I experienced all those things you did: the "tingling/itching sensations in hands, legs and feet;" and "headache, nausea and hot flashes"--EXACTLY what I went through! (Including the paralyzing depression/ inability to function.) I thought I was going thru early menopause, lol!

It was worst during the final 3 months of the 8-month process. Man, what a horrific med! I was so sensitive to it that I had dose down by single milligrams by reducing the # of little 'balls' inside the capsules, b/c it made me so sick.... SO glad to finally be off it!

My experience differs from yours, however, in that my doc started me on another med called "lamictal" to counter the depressive symptoms when I was down to the final 'balls' (i.e, 1 every other day for the final week), THEN started me on the Vii starter pack exactly a month later.

However, I still had the residual Eff sickness during that time... so it wouldn't be surprising that yours hasn't subsided yet. I got much better by the time I started Vii, so it took at about a month for me...

What hasn't changed with the Vii alone is the severe mood swings/ irritabiity and extreme teariness that developed coming off Eff--so my doc is still playing w/lamictal dosing for that.

The good news is that Vii has helped tremendously with my overall mood and energy (at least 2/3 of the tiime); I hope it helps for you, too, and that the Eff sickness goes away soon--hang in there! :)

Thanks for the info. The pins and needles sensations seem a little better today, but hard to say because I've had an awful headache, vomiting and fever all day. A year ago I had very similar symtoms; had stopped the Efx on my own for several days. Ended up in the ER with a worst headache ever and it was the flu. Now with the same symptoms and similar situation, it has me second guessing what's what. I need to take my dose of Vii now, but don't want to throw up. Haven't taken anything for the headache with the same worry.

I know I have to come off the Efx at some point and so I'm going to try and push through this weekend. Really can't miss much more work unless my doctor puts me out on med. leave and I'd rather not do that. My mood has lightened some in the past couple of days.

Hope you continue to progress well.

I am just starting the viibryd also but I wanted to let you know that the horrible headaches and hot flashes are definitely party of the many withdrawal effects of the EFX. Coming off of EFX was the worst year of my life and I wanted to let you know that when people say that you literally have to count the balls to come off of it, it's true.I had to lower my dose by no more than 5 balls a well and I still thought I would die.I want to save you the misery and beg you too go straight to your Dr. and insist at least a months worth of Prozac. It will get rid of the discontinuation effects and you can stop taking it cold turkey whenever you want with no ill effects at all because it has such a long half-life. Please look it up and don't give up on the viibryd yet because it is highly likely that all of your problems are from the EFX. Sorry about my punctuation and capitalization I'm texting this.
