Viibryd Reviews (Page 39)
UpdatedGoing to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it?
Thanks!
Jason I am so happy for you! It has been the same with me too! And Joe I feel the same about there'd. I think well I can go off it... Ha but I know better! I used to do that with Wellbutrin and then after two or three weeks off I was ready to snap your head! Lol!!! So I have kept th both...
Joe I am so glad you answered Claire! I just didn't know where to start!
Claire I am so sorry you are going through all this! But I think Joes ideas are the best. I am no doctor but there seems to be stuff in your life that needs some therapy and that a pill just can't fix..... Hope you can find some positive things for your life and daily struggles... I am a Christian and reaching out to The Lord and other Christians does help... Maybe there some help groups in a church nearby... Good luck and keep us updated!

Thank you every one, and I do agree, it may be time for a therapist ...... I'm still having a few side effects grime viibryd .... I slept better last night finally.... I have started twitching right after I take it though ( weird) it's kind of like when my eyes are closed I see a flash of light and my body just kind if spazez out for a second, not really scary for me.... I intend to see a misuse for my what I like to call " crunchiness " lol my joints and back pop 24/7... Any way I still feel kind of weepy but I think I also just decided to switch meds at the wrong time, this may be TMI but I was fixing to start my cycle lol ..... And I dot know if it was the meds or switching from celexa but it has been the worst cycle I have ever had! I still feel a little un motivated.... But u do have ADHD medicine I can take for that.... Thank everyone so much for responding , and yes joe your right about marriage but I do love my fiance unconditionally, but since being on meds I just haven't been the same , I wished I never had started them but I had GERD and agoraphobia , and germaphobia so bad I had to do something I was 18 and 76 lbs. my anxiety really effects my gastro system . ..... Anyway I still intend on staying on the viibryd because I think it will just take a while to get used to it, I would do anything for my fiance including changing medicines lol! But I just really want to solve all our demons before we tie the knot. I have been eperiencing some good side effects I have started to be more interested in calling and texting my friends, just one step at a time for me.
Thanks for the extra insight into your situation. Obviously you have greater complexities to contend with unique to you where are in this process to improve your health and move on with life. I am too a Christian We have a life to lead even when there are health conditions. Yes, marriage can be in fact very helpful with moving on in life and not letting health issues be a barrier to that. Sometimes yes more than just a SSRI type of drug has to be given. Sometimes a few drugs are needed. This has to be managed correctly. Good nutrition is important. There are many kinds of foods that help with depressions. There are books on natural things that can be eaten. Some of these initial symptoms are within the kinds I hear for some people. So, just remember while getting medical help and doing things that are healthy in nature, you have a life to live and pursue the things that make you upbeat, active and more happy in the process. Good luck.
Well joe today was much better, woke up in a great mood! Got up hot dressed and even put makeup on to go to work, had pretty good energy all day ( without ADHD meds) which I liked alot, they curb my apatite to bad and at 105 lbs I don't need to be doing that, I start school on Tuesday , not really looking forward to that lol but I come by it honest. No more weepies though ;) still with the viibryd twitching noticed its not just after taking the meds but when I lay down in general , took a nap when I got home and it did that today. I'm hypoglycemic probably due to the soda I drank. I'm bad lol, but I do try to eat healthy! But my sweet tooth gets the best if me. I don't do we'll on vitamins they upset my stomach bad . Thank you for your advice, I want to do some research on foods that help with depression besides chocolate muffins! Have a great week ;)
Today will be my 3rd day on Viibrid, if I take it tonight before bed. Day 1 make me sick to my stomach and very tired, day 2 made me sick to my stomach, however, it didn't seem to last as long as it did the 1st day. However, on day 2, I found myself upset with something minor, VERY angry. I was not myself at all. I didn't like it. After I got horribly angry, I felt like busting out in tears.., which I did somewhat. I just don't know if I'm going to try this again for the 3rd day or not.
Some people have a few days of gastro discomfort, but many don't. Most that have the gastro discomfort will go on to relief and the drug will kick in for its benefits in 2-4 weeks, but even works better after that. I have no connection to the drug maker. I am just like everyone else here, just a consumer and feeling that this drug is effective. Yet, the side effects can be bothersom, especially for people who are already nervous from anxieties and depressions. Our coping levels are low, and so patience and worries about taking drugs and side effects can be very troubling, causing people to drop out. That is a shame if the drop out happens that way, if the drug will actually work later on. But for some, the side effects are so bad they move on to something else. Hope this helps.
Monica, I know how you feel. Vii made me angry, shy and I starting having panic attacks, which I've never had any of these b4. I had to focus on pros of the meds vs the cons. I kept taking the Vii and I learned how to control the side effects. With the anger, I took a deep breath and kept quiet till it passed.
It's kind of like going under water (with Vii) you have to learn how to hold your breath and know when to come up for air.
Vii has been the best thing for me. But the side effects were the worse thing. After a while I got passed the side effects and the benifits were worth the wait.
Viibryd is supposed to have an anxiety reducing ingredient. Many of these meds require a two week adjustment for side effects to subside...longer if you are increasing the dose every week..
Unfortunately I was at 40mg a day before I realized that my memory was completely gone and that I was clenching my teeth to the point of a chronic headache. I had terrible TMJ issues and have a huge amount of dental reconstruction. All SSRIs have that risk, but this was like nothing I had ever seen. I am a psychologist and I have tried them all. When they do work for me, they ultimately stop at some plateau and I have to change to the next drug. I would not wish treatment resistant depression on anyone. It is like being wrapped in gauze some days. I slept really well on Viibryd too. I am pretty sure that I had a manic type episode. I was on top of the world; creative, and finally feeling normal for the first time in my life. I started setting up my studio and feeling like I could take on the world. I sure wish I could keep that feeling! I have been without a decent SSRI for a year now. Depression affects sleep and non restorative sleep worsens depression. Eventually sleep meds stop too and have to be changed. I would take a sleep study but I wake so often that they would not get get a decent result. It could also be a sleep disturbance. So this is incredibly complex and frustrating. I am happy for those who find relief. Maybe next year they can change a molecule and it will work for me. But when I felt good, I really felt good! Better than I had in years.
To CAGEDTIGER - I know your post is old, but I have never heard of ANYone with the same problems that I have. Migraines (taking Topomax-and Zomig when necessary) depression, with the change in meds when they stop working. Just wanted to add to the thread that Cymbalta did nothing for me, just started taking Viibryd. On their website (because those flyers are so small and annoying to read) I had to go to the tab for the physicians to find that a common side effect was blurred vision. Now I need to know if this is something that occurs when you begin the medication, or is on-going. Also, loved my Topomax weight-loss. Can't win though, had Cancer last year - and people wonder why I have depression (jk).
Tomorrow my doctor is doing a full review to determine if my Celexa needs to be changed. I have anxiety, PSTD and severe depression. I'm hearing that the doctor has reservations about VI due to the fact that it can cause agitation and the last thing I need is my anxiety and panic attacks to return full force after all the work I have done. In the meantime, the depression I am feeling is keeping me indoors, away from going out and being an optimistic person. They say after a few years your meds can putter out. After being on Celexa and Lexapro and then back on Celexa (we had to cut the dosage due to heart warnings to 40mg.) It sounds like this medicine takes a good time to kick in and I have read about "brain zaps" it causes, which concern me. I have taken Effexor, which actually put me to sleep during the day. Interested in hearing feedback! I'll definitely re-post if I am starting VI.

Concerned also about weight gain, I just dropped a ton of weight and feel so much better and have a way to go...... =) This drug is supposed to have more seritonin. I am concerned about these "brain zaps" and reports of aggitation, which seems to set in at the end of the day. Celexa is not a miracle worker, but I guess no pill is and has caused the least complications. Lexapro gave me so much energy I was too hyper and that's when the weight got packed in. Thanks! Be well everyone!
Vii worked 3X better for me than Lexapro. I am 63. I feel very much my self except too disinterested in gym work outs. I used to fight depression and anxiety by work outs. Not feeling motivated to do those now. But I should for good fitness. I think the brain zaps are fairly low risk plus chance and passes in 7 to 10 days. I lucked out on no side effects of import. Vii does not help with more sleep. I like this drug very much overall. I wish you good luck and don't be afraid.
Thanks! I've been on the others so long and it was my doctor who was concerned with "agitation". I appreciate the response a great deal and will let you know if I start Vi and share my experience.
I found that Celexa and Wellbutrin lost their effectiveness. Just started Vii, taking it at night so I won't be drowsy during the day, AND one of the side effects that is common is blurred vision. Mine is fine now, but kinda freaked me out.
Thanks for the update. Keep us updated on what you notice in terms of improvements in your mood and levels of interests and activities, including sleep patterns. I am trying to keep evaluating this drug's oveall effectiveness.
BTW, what are you hoping to see in the way of improvement? I always suggest the people write down when they start a drug the current symptoms and what they hope to see change. It is a reference point to guage success or failure. Normally, it can be good to note symptoms and side effects.
In a prior post, you mentioned having a type of cancer. If you don't mind, can you disclose a bit more on that experience, the kind, the treatment, the medications, how the response is coming along. Often SSRIs are given for people coping with cancer. That disease is a special stressor for many reasons, and SSRIs can be very important as part of the treatment plan while people are under treatment. Best of luck and hope you are progressing well.
Hi guys, thanks in advance, I am 28 just started Viibryd from 10,and have a question, have anyone done to take Viibryd totally and now feel his self well without any med?
As for Vii, I am only into it now 8 months. But in the past, I took Lexapro for about 1 1/2 years and went off of it as I felt okay enought to go about life and see what would happen. I was off an SSRI then for two years. Felt a relapse and shrink said to try Vii this time, not lexapro, as he felt Vii was better and had a lot of good results so far. Lately, the shrink says it is a good drug and works as one of best in his arsenal. I also was on paxil for about 2-3 years, and then off for 2-3 years before going on Lexapro.
I am age 63. I might stop Vii later this year and see how it goes being off of it. Everyone wants to be off of all drugs if the can. Me too.
If anyone goes off meds, do so with the assistance of your doctor so you can get lower doses to slowly get off slowly. Even then, I've had my head do this kind of internal throbbing thing that sucks. As for being off meds altogether, I now know that I can't be off meds, probably ever. I don't know if Vii will do any good, but the 6 months I was on Cymbalta I got much worse.
Hey - I just staerted Viibrydd about 2 months ago. I FREAKING LOVE IT and have NEVER felt better in my life. It works differently on your newrotranzmitters all the others do - and my doc said it (either has in it or creates) Norepinephrine to help the energy level. I have been on tons of antiD's - and just have never EVER felt better. BUT - do NOT take this at night. EVER. it will give you super screwed up dreams. Good luck!
I'm not having any "messed up" dreams. I'm at 20 in the starter pack right now. I'm taking it at night because I don't want it to make me tired. I'm a huge victim of the "winter blues". I have one of those light visors and everything. Gonna go tanning today to see if that will give me a boost. I've tried a LOT of things and I take responsibility for myself. I don't just expect pills to make me happy, but I've gotta be able to get out of bed and out of the house first. Also - no depression support groups, except on-line. And all of this stuff about drugs and stuff would be so helpful.
