Going to start it tomorrow. Anyone else taking it, and if so, how do you like it?

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback amyison. Glad that some of your side effects are going away.
I'll have to ask my Dr about Lexipro and see what she says; I'm not familiar with it.
As for my Vii withdrawal, I've yet to tell whether the ultra-vivid dreams are gone since I mostly feel like I'm not sleeping! :)
My pain is still pretty bad, too. Mine's on my left side: shoulder and elbow, like intense carpal. Today I can't even lift the arm it's so painful (even typing hurts). Other days it's not so bad. Am really looking forward to being able to use my arm again normally as I need to get back to weight training but can't life weights (or anything) right now.
I, too, hope we all have successful journeys finding the right combos for ourselves. :)

dawnzig. Same with me, only the pain is on my right. Some days the pain subsides and when I think that all is getting better, it flares up again. I found out that pulling something is not good for that arm. I am glad that I seem not to have any other withdrawal symptoms...so far.
Still wearing the tennis elbow brace. I don't know if it helps. I just want to speed up up the healing.

Y'know, guess I'm finally realizing there ARE other side effects and it's exacerbated now that I'm coming off. In addition to being an absolutely miserable, rude, irrational and near-violent person the past few months (my husband confirmed the timeline--since I can't remember anymore), I've been feeling pretty suicidal and hopeless for at least the past week--and had tapered down from 10mg to 5mg to zero in the past two weeks. Never did think to mention it.... I do have an appt with the Dr. tomorrow.

I weaned off Pristiq after being on it for almost 3 years. I did that while I started taking Viibryd. I had absolutely no withdrawl symtoms. I just moved up to the 40 mg of Viibryd on Mar 12th and by Saturday night I had my first episode of major brain zaps. Absolutely scared the crap out of me. It started just as I was falling asleep. My body was twitching and it felt like I kept snapping my head back. For me, I believe there is no way that could possibly be a good thing. I see my med dr on the 21st and I'm telling him that I'm going to wean off of it. The good that this med could possibly be for me is totally not worth the brain zaps. I've been on tons of meds and I have never ever experienced that before especially while titrating the dose up instead of down. I will just stick with Welbutrin XL 300 mg a day. Way, way too scary for me. I was very relieved to see that others had experienced this also...I thought I was going to be admitted to the mental hospital because it was such a strange and scary thing that was happening within my brain and body. Good luck to the rest of you.

I also have to mention that after being on it about a week I started taking it at night and that greatly reduced the sugar/food cravings. I wanted to eat and eat and eat I just never felt fulfilled. That stopped once I started taking it at night. Still the brain zaps aren't worth staying on it.

I don't care too muchfor having to go off of my celexa before I can take the viibryd. I causes terrible side effects for me suxh as uncontrolable cry, racing thoughts, increased aniety ans also the side effect the mention such as diarhea, upset stomach. I am sure this is a great medication, however I would discuss possible side effects with you dr so maybe he can help get you through the transition period. Because this for me has been super tough.

Into week 5. After the trial pack of 10mg week 1, and now week 4 of 20mg I feel good. Still have stomach issues and diariah every other day. Worst time was first 3 days on starting and then first 2 days on 20mg. Didn't suffer any "brain zaps" or pain. Eyesight has deteriorated and a sweets craving which is unusual.
That said I think I shall stay at 20mg not cured but happy.

These "brain zaps" are what i usually feel as part of withdrawal, but they are pretty common with viibryd. couple things i noticed. When you take it you usually feel the "brain zaps" within the 4 hours after you take it. That's how long it takes each dose to reach peak levels in the blood stream give or take a few depending on your meal size and makeup. In my experience. If I don't feel the brain zaps thats my cue that my meal wasn't big enough because its not all getting in my system. I'm sure as the brain zaps become less and less common as your body adjusts to it they aren't such good guidelines but i think we all can agree that they are the result of an SSRI increase, not a decrease.

one thing to keep an eye on is whether you're gaining weight or just bloating. On Viibryd there are somedays i can't fit in my pants but a week later they fit. i don't know. doesn't make sense.

Hi Started on viibryd 8 weeks ago ( ON Feb 1st) Dr gave me starting pack and told me to start the 10 mg and continue with 20mg but not to go over 20. So i did. On 10 mg start the first week was OK even suprisley good. after starting on 20 mg. till now i start having diarrhea wich was not that bad (every other day) but what bothers me is i start wakenig up almost every morning around 6:30 am and soon as i open my eyes i feel like wave rush in my brain and pass it trough my body wich alarms me to have an anxiety/physicly attack.
Yes. Just as described. Means that after the brain -body rush wave i had to get up and feel the anxious feeleng and fear like any anxiety attack followed with physical- imidiaetly stomach cramps with diarrhea and vomithing, exaustion after couple of minutes torture in the bathroom have to go and lay down again wich start the irritation and tremor in the body for lets say, an hour or so. Bicause its happening like i said usualy around 6 am and this horrible feeleng wil last for a good hour and half even more sometimes but since i go to work and have to drop my kids at school i have no choice to get up and keep going even i still have the anxiety symptoms. 2 weeks ago i start experiencing very low Blood pressure and low heart rate ( sometime went too low 80/47 with 49-50 bmp) and ussualy keeps me all day long at work like that wich i tough sometimes i will pass out on the floor. That is my experience so far. I really dont know should still stay on 20 mg or discontinue it all. ( i was on Paxil before ) im hoping just to woke up in the morning and have no scary anxiety to start my day, it really hurts and is scary tough i was dieng. any comments or sugesstions would be helpful since i dont have anyone to open my heart regarding my condition b/c most of it think im crazy or dont understand. Oh, yes, anyone sugest any tips on gaining weight since every time i experiencing this anxieties my apetite comleatly shuts down so i lost lots of weight.
Thanks! Hope.

I have been using Viibryd for about 4 months now and ramped up (1) 60mg pill daily. I'm still depressed but much less so than before. I also have more energy and my food cravings (late night carbs) are gone. I wish I didn't cry so much still. I want to feel better so much. I'm going to the doc tomorrow to see if there is anything else i can do, might even try talk-therapy to get rid of this nagging sadness.

I was wrong! It is 40mg daily I take, sorry about that. I was on celexa prior and this is, for me, 1000 times better. I actually feel better than before and definitely have more energy.

Thanks, amyison. Had a couple very rough days and feel a bit better today--emotionally, that is. Physically, my arm (elbow and shoulder joint) and what feels like my neck joint (at the base where one's neck is connected to the spine/ back) is incredibly painful.

Had a prob with what really felt like some kind of pinching in my brain, if that makes sense. Almost like dizzy, but not quite (not brain zaps, I don't think. this was a bit diff than when I forgot to take Efx). It was so bad yesterday, I couldn't do much else but lay down, but even had it then. That's also better today.

I'm very confused now, tho--& not the regular confusion that seemed to come from the med itself, but about what actually caused the side effects.

I was checking out some things online last night and the other med I'm on (lamictal) can cause a LOT of the same symptoms: insomnia (+unrefreshing sleep, waking up); joint pain (+ neck & back pain, severe muscle pain); depression, anxiety, nervousness & suicidal thoughts; concentration probs; memory loss and increased appetite!

There are actually LESS side effects with Vii, tho those effects are near identical with the Lamictal ('cept for diarrhea).

So, as I said, I'm very confused b/c I started taking both around the same time--think I start Vii a couple weeks after.

AND that was the same time I got off Efx for the first time in many years (brutal detox, btw).

Dr wants me to go on Celexa now and despite what I'm going through, I want to wait and see if it's actually the lamictal (she has me on 400mg) that really caused the probs.

The only thing that's not mentioned anywhere with either of those meds is the aggressiveness, so that's a mystery.

Interestingly, Vii is now said to cause DECREASED libido--the whole thing it was supposed NOT cause, lol!

Last thing to note is VERY IMPORTANT (especially for those with the joint pain): there's a drug interaction warning with Vii to not take aspirin, ibuprofen and naproxen!!! That certainly was never told to me and I took them regularly.

Anyway, thanks all for keeping up with your own experiences. :)

Dawnzig hey glad to hear from you,I understand about the lamectial in the beginning well 2 years ago I was agressive irritable lots of stuff when I first started it too,it finally after about 6 months leveled out I had hair loss too which made me more depressed but now I dont,I would change it for anything else for me its a mood stabilizer and also I have seizures so it controls those too, best of luck with Celexa lots of people I know it works for its tough with finding the right combinations for everyone take care all wish everyone the best

Well seeing some of the replies it looks like a 50/50 chance if it works well with you body or not. Just wish the Dr would have warned about the transition and side effects going off the celexa because I feel like I am going crazy not being able to sleep or stop crying.

vii does cause anger, I've gotten it from that i also take lamictal. with the vii I've stopped breathing 3 times on saturday just stopped it all together. I've tried every one of the depressants they all give me side effects. I've been on lamictal for 6 months now don't notice a side effect to it. except when they up the dose i can't sleep. I'm going to try the lamictal by its self c how that works. still having very bad anger not sure how long this will last.
