How long were you on vibryd and what dose? Also did you feel like it helped with anxiety or depression?
I just did a memory a battery of test to find out if had early dementia. I don't but med may be at root of problems. It got noticeable effects with viibryd and it has gotten worse
I had to get off that drug—on it for Depr/Anxiety reoccurrence. Severe memory loss. Couldn't remember watching a certain movie w my husband, couldn't remember conversations people told me we had…….Scared me—only 43. Severe CRAZY nightmares, sleep paralysis, It is a horrible drug. Don't take it.
I have lost 2 hrs here and there on this med. and done things I can't rember I will not every take this med. again. I hope this med. is not giving to anyon.
I'm on vybriid 20 mg., lamectal 200 mg, and trazadone for sleep. I'm having vivid dreams/night terrors and severe memory loss/ confusion. Also feel paralyzed in bed upon waking. Help!!!?? Any suggestions?
I found that my memory went back to what it was...thank God! I was clenching my teed and being a real b****. It took a while to cut back and I went back to my previous SSRI. Then I thought that was silly because it wasn't working anyway. So I started back on Prozac, the first one I ever tried. I had plateaued on everything I was on anyway so I suggested to my doctor that we start with the first one I ever used.
I really miss the energy and creativity that I experienced with Viibryd. It was great, but I was very glad to get it out of my system.
I feel dumber than dirt taking Viibryd. I was on Lexapro last year and remember feeling much sharper mentally compared to Viibryd.
Sorry I didn't finish that.
There are so many things that are going on that I could not tell you with any honesty what I think is affecting what. Once you have chemotherapy everything changes. It hits the endocrine system the hardest but it will affect all body functions. Funny how good you feel when they tell you that you have cancer and how bad you feel after they start treating you. The chemo most certainly could have affected my brain's ability to create and process neurotransmitters. Mostly I just do geographic cures and try to take as much pressure off myself as possible.
I have tried all the SSRIs, the NSRIs. Wellbutrin and even lamictal to take the edge off the depression. Viibryd was my last shot at SSRIs. I will return to Lexapro. I was up to 30mg. The irony is that I used to be a psychologist and my memory was affected, but only slightly. With every year, as well as hormone changes (estrogen increases concentration), fibromyalgia, chemotherapy and radiation for cancer, as well as daily opiates for the pain of bone grinding bone from a kayaking accident
I also have completely lost my memory of Viibryd. I am forgetting appointments and having to write things down. I did not have a great memory to start but most antidepressants will affect memory. I have never seen one this bad. On the other hand, my creativity has soared and I am doing things that I haven't had the energy to do for years! Tough trade off, huh? I will stay on Viibryd and get better about writing things down because there are so many other fronts on which I feel better. I am upping memory vitamin supplements to see if that makes a difference. Sometimes it does.
If it was caused by the Viibryd, then yes, it may come back if you stop taking it and try something else.

I've suffered something similar from medications in the past and my memory has always returned to normal, after I stopped taking them....of course I'll never try them again, because that's quite an uneasy occurrence to deal with.
I'd suggest talking to your doctor as soon as you can, that way they can determine if it's due to the medication and help you decide the appropriate course of action.
Have you tried any other antidepressants?
