Is there a chance the imprint could read V 58 81? This was the closest match I could find being white and oval with a V on the front and 58 | 81 on the back, separated by a score line.
If this is your pill I found it to be Spironolactone (50 mg).
Spironolactone is used primarily to treat heart failure, ascites in patients with liver disease, low-renin hypertension, hypokalemia and Conn's syndrome.
