Trying To Find A Pain Mgmt Doc That Prescribes Oxycontin In The Atlanta, Ga Area To Help Combat Pain Secondary To Severe Systemic Scleroderma:/

Hi guys! I'm suffering, even confined to bed rest when sx are uncontrolled, from severe systemic scleroderma, that b* tch of an autoimmune connective tissue disease that has crippled my body and stolen my life. I take around 5 OxyContins a day, depending upon the severity of my sx that respective day, with Norcos usually 4-6/day for breakthrough immediate pain relief, and Xanax prn for anxiety and am paying $500/visit plus the amount for my prescriptions every visit. I'm too sick to even endure the most physically inactive jobs nor do I have insurance, thus looking for ANY help proffered regarding any physicians y'all may suggest that treat pain, do not harbor any stigma in prescribing such intense, scheduled pain meds, and would be less financially taxing than that of my current one. Anyho, hope, prayers and blessings to all y'all going thru crap as well and would be so so so thankful for any helpful tips or suggestions! Thank you, have an awesome day!

I'm sorry, but to be completely honest, if you require that many pills each day and have a doctor now that's willing to prescribe them, then the best thing to do would likely be to just stick with them.

Severe restrictions were laid down last year, regarding how much they can prescribe, unless someone is terminal such as with stage 4 cancer, so a new doctor will be very reluctant to write for more than 2 of the Oxycontin each day, which probably won't manage your pain.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Does anyone else have any ideas or suggestions?
