It is already available in the U.S. It is not recommended as the first choice for treating diabetes, and it must be combined with proper diet and exercise. It is not an insulin, it works differently.
The FDA warns that it may cause pancreatic inflammation, kidney failure, severe stomach problems, hypoglycemia, nausea, diarrhea, and decreased appetite.
