According to MedlinePlus, “Prednisone is used alone or with other medications to treat the symptoms of low corticosteroid levels, as well as certain types of arthritis; severe allergic reactions; multiple sclerosis; lupus; and certain conditions that affect the lungs, skin, eyes, kidneys blood, thyroid, stomach, and intestines. Prednisone is also sometimes used to treat the symptoms of certain types of cancer.”

It works to treat other conditions by reducing swelling and redness and by changing the way the immune system works.” [1]
The side effects of Prednisone can include but are not limited to symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, tiredness or weakness, insomnia, vision problems, depression, confusion, heartburn and unfortunately much more. You can view a complete list of known side effects on the following page: [2]
