Trintellix Brintellix Cold Turkey

I've been on 20 mg for 7 months, working awesome but now I feel it's time to get off it. My choice would be to stop it cold turkey. Had anyone else done this yet, and how hard/easy was it?

That's usually not a good idea after taking it for months, because according to the U.S. FDA, it could cause you to experience withdrawal effects, which may include nausea, diarrhea, headache, rebound depression, pain, and anxiety.

A slow taper would be the best choice.

Why do you want to stop it, if it is working so well for you?

Hi, I just didn't want to be on pills anymore. Update, I did stop taking it CT, I did have the side effects they said, albeit reasonably mild and only a few days. My Dr wanted me back on it but it was up to me. I just started back on it at 10 mg but I'm learning that I should be back up to 20 mg but not sure when/if I will or just learn to deal with things as they are. I will also say that I've had 3 deaths to deal with very recently, one being putting my horse down, he was a very important family member. So I could just be 'happier' in my dark place right now, it's safe and predictable. I do have a Dr appt this week and likeky will be told to go back up to 20 mgs. We'll see.
