Trilipix Possible Side Effects? (Top voted first)

My doctor prescribed Trilpix a few months ago. I had to stop taking it as I began to suffer acute shortness of breath. I am a Type 2 diabetic with kidney disease. I currently have 50% kidney function. I have been reading the contraindications for this medication and it says people with kidney or liver disease should not take this. I have stopped the medication and have a new appointment with my doctor. Is it possible that for the months I took this my kidneys could have been damaged further? Has anyone else experienced the shortness of breath with the medication?

I have been taking trilipix for 6 months. I am in good health except my HDL is low which raise my overall cholesteral level, although my LDL is low. I want to stop taking it, I have back pain (upper back) its my muscles, dark urnine, sometime nausea and heart burn. I wonder also if this drug causing any damage will it be reversed. I am having blood work done tomorrow again to see what is going on. Does anyone know what happens if you stop taking this drug cold turkey?

I stopped cold turkey per my doctor... it was not a problem. I feel so much better..my doctor indicated that I was taking such a small dose it would not affect my kidneys, but I have to say, I am happy to be off this medication

well I took this med for about 4 months 135mg for high tryglacerides and it worked, it lower my tryglacerides but it also increase creatinine levels to 1.9 which is very high my being only 39 years old. Now I am very concern
and just keep hoping that my creatinine returns to normal levels. I don't want renal failure.

I've had Nephritis for about 11 years or so and was told I wouldn't need to be on dialysis until I had it for 15 yrs. Recently I was told I might have to be on it soon and was taken off of Trilipix because it interacts with Lipitor. I've been on both medications for at least a year, how come it took so long to notice there was a problem?
